crisis management 101
Submitted by wrongcentury on Fri, 02/15/2008 - 07:16.who: jason and people in/around the chapel
when: about 10 minutes after the explosion
where: in the doorway of the chapel
Jason had checked on a couple of things before he'd actually headed for the chapel. He had his stupid list with him, but really, he was more concerned with checking to see if anyone had oh, gotten their ass blown up. So far, it didn't look that way, and he'd of course made sure that the most important people to him were okay. Emma, Katalina...Dave he'd seen outside tending to someone who was hurt.

Submitted by sarah_tanner on Sun, 02/10/2008 - 02:58.Who: Calvin and Sarah
Where: Billiards Room
When: Later evening
After Esme left, and her eyes had begun to blur from trying to finish her sketch in the dim porch light, Sarah finally gave up on finishing outside and went back into the house, her eyes roaming critically over the drawing as she walked about distractedly, trying to find a room with decent light. The kitchen was off limits, given she was prone to running into Nic in there, and she wanted to avoid that at the moment. She was already sick of her room, and she wasn't sure she wanted to venture very far when she was itching to finish what she'd started. Somewhat absently, she moved from the living room into the billiards room, finding it empty after she'd flipped on the light. Empty suited her just fine for the time being, and she sat on one of the stools at the bar before she got to work again, briefly wondering if there was any wine behind the counter. She'd have to check when she was finished. Hunched over her sketchpad, her hand moved at a swift rate, her bottom lip drawn in between her teeth in concentration. Why she felt inspired to draw depressing, ominous pictures all of the sudden, she had no idea, but there it was, and if this house and its so-called 'horror' was her new muse, so be it.

AnnoyedHere's a useful tip for all of you who don't seem to grasp some very basic concepts.
They're called house meetings because people usually meet to discuss current events in the house. They aren't called house meetings so everyone can sit on their asses and not show up. Funny how you all seem to have gotten those two confused.
Jesus fucking Christ, people.

What the fucking FUCK?
Submitted by 1inthechamber on Fri, 12/07/2007 - 23:01.Who: Dan, Zhen, Lina, Kaori, Nic, and open to everyone!
Where: Second floor, meat locker, ballroom
When: About 7:15ish
People called to him or tried to talk to him as he ran through the house, hammering on every single door as he went, but not stopping for anything more than the odd comment to the stupid people who didn't get it - didn't get that Nic was missing, and that he was hurt and that he could be in danger, that anything could have happened to him. They didn't. get. it. But they'd be awake - they had to be awake. And then they could all help look for Nic and they'd find him and it'd all be okay - it all had to be okay. They just couldn't be sleeping right now. After he had finished hammering on the doors of the second floor, he ran towards the stairs, taking them two at a time as he headed for the foyer.
Zhen was following him. She was telling people as they went what was going on, though just in clips and phrases, calls for help and for people to search for Nic, but she wasn't sticking around to give a dissertation on the matter. She was hot on Dan's heels, because no way in hell was she leaving him alone right now to face---whatever was coming. No way. Even if he didn't want her there (or notice, since she was sure he was far too distraught to even understand he was being followed), she was going to be. Just in case.
Lina had made two calls - one to the medical level so Millie could locate Dave, and one to Kaori, because, well, having the shrink on hand right now was probably just a good idea. Then she was out her door and hauling ass up the stairs, thinking she should probably see if Dan was having a screaming heart attack before she ran to the meat locker, because that seemed like the rational place to look, and WHOA there was Dan on the stairs. She nearly collided with Nic's half-naked, fully bloody, wrench-wielding boyfriend on the stairs and had to jump so as to avoid tumbling back down said stairs with him. "DAN!" she yelled. She'd never actually met him, but she knew him well enough from the scientists sick little games. "Go see Dave!" Yeah, she didn't actually think that would work, but what the hell.

Submitted by sarcastical on Fri, 11/30/2007 - 06:52.It's been two days already and still no response. So, I'm going to repeat myself - I want to know who attacked me. I'm not going to fade into the background like the rest of spineless twerps around here and I will keep sending you notes until I become such a pain in your ass that you give me some sort of response.
I await your reply.

Submitted by sarcastical on Mon, 11/12/2007 - 06:51.You people know what happened, so I'm not going to waste either of our time giving you a rundown. I'll just get to the point. You know who attacked me, and that's information I want. Now, one way or another I'm going to find out, but if you tell me it'll make things a hell of a lot simpler and I can promise entertainment will be had by all. So let's cut through all the bullshit and you go ahead and tell me what I want to know.

Suspense
Submitted by house_mayhem on Tue, 10/23/2007 - 00:13.Who: ??
When: Early morning
Where: All around the house, including but not limited to Zhen's room, Calvin's room, and Laila's room.
The timely appearance of the threatening note the day before seemed a good herald for some mayhem, and this troublemaker wasn't one to ignore an opportunity. The plan had been in the works for a while, but now was the time to implement it. The scientists agreed, more than happy to help out with this little game. Supplies were gathered, gags and sturdy rope and magazine cuttings, and the unfortunate victims were chosen. There was only one real obstacle to this little bit of entertainment - Katalina, who had the irritating habit of rising early and was also talented in rousing and organizing the house in a crisis. She, obviously, would have to be... incapacitated for the plan to be successful.
Thankfully, the woman was nearly like clockwork when it came to her morning routine. This was how the troublemaker knew to be hiding in the foyer a few minutes before 5 am, waiting for Lina to pass by on her way outside. One tap from the baseball bat found in storage and the little problem would be taken care of - only for an hour or two, but that's all the time that was really needed. It was easy to hide in the craft room, wait for Lina to leave her bedroom, then creep out and club her from behind. It wasn't a terribly hard hit; enough to drop her right there, but she'd be awake in an hour or two with a bruise and a headache.
Once Lina was out of the way (figuratively and literally, once she'd been dragged back into her room and left there on the floor), it was time to get the rest of the plan set up. Clues, pasted from magazine cutouts on plain white paper, were hidden in several locations around the house. Zhen was the first victim. It was thought that Zhen would be the easiest to snatch from her bed, which was reinforced when the vandal attempted to pick the lock - and learned quickly enough that there was nothing to pick. Turning the knob quietly, the disguised and hooded figure crept into her bedroom, bat in hand to knock her out.
Zhen was asleep, breathing even and slow as her room was entered. She stirred slightly. Nic? Maybe it was Nic. She sort of partially mumbled, but didn't fully wake.
The figure paused as Zhen stirred, advancing once again after a moment where it was determined that she wasn't wholly awake. The bat was raised, preparing to give her a strike that would keep her out long enough to get her in position, but without causing serious damage. After all, she needed to be awake for all the fun.
Zhen stirred more, and then half rubbed at her eyes. "Nic?" she asked sleepily again, more coherently this time and she started to prop herself up as she looked over into the darkness of her room.
What the hell. She was already awake, so why not make it just a tiny bit more fun? A glove-clad hand shot out to grab her hair and pull her forward a bit. No sense wasting the opportunity for a good shot.
That was a sentiment that Zhen shared, considering it was pretty quickly sinking in that this was not Nic. So, as she let out a rough squeak of a scream, she sent her foot as hard as she could into her attacker, not particularly aiming, but she wanted to try.
Well, it wasn't going to be any fun if she was going to scream and draw people's attention. That little one was nothing to worry about, but anything louder and there would be trouble. The attacker let out a low grunt as a sharp little heel made contact with a thigh, but lashed out with the bat in the next second. The hit was calculated; it was enough to knock her out, but not enough to keep her there for long - surely no more than an hour.
At the same time, the partners in crime were taking care of Calvin - in much the same manner as Zhen, he was knocked unconscious, though he was easier than the small Asian woman had been. Hit in the head while still asleep, he went straight from slumber to unconsciousness. He was gagged, dragged to a second spot, his wrists tied and suspended. The final victim, Laila, was a bit harder - she was already awake when the big men came for her. But she, too, was eventually subdued, though a little worse for wear. She was knocked out, gagged, tied, and transported to a third spot, where she was hoisted so quickly and harshly that the sound of her shoulder dislocating was audible in the surrounding silence.
Leaving all three victims where they hung, an anonymous PM was sent to all housemates.

Overdue Meeting
Submitted by 1inthechamber on Mon, 09/17/2007 - 20:14.Who: Open to all
When: 2 PM.
Where: The ballroom.
This felt a little weird. Lina had been to meetings and everything, and was never shy about voicing her opinions. But it still felt weird. She'd never been in charge of one before. Now she had called a meeting, and she was actually going to have to help direct it along. Well, this would be interesting.
At least it seemed like a lot of people had shown up. She hadn't done a headcount, but... maybe this would go okay. Lina waited a few minutes to make sure everyone who had intended on showing up had, and cleared her throat. "Okay, let's just get started." she said. "What I want out of this is for everyone to know who they're living with. Who their neighbors are, which people are on their floor, that kind of thing. I'd like for everyone to go around and introduce themselves, and say what floor they're on. After that we can talk about any concerns or questions anyone has."
I feel like a goddamn camp counselor. she thought, wanting to pull a face. She didn't. She just introduced herself like a good little authority figure, and had everyone else go around the room and do the same. She'd brought a list with her, and she made sure to mark off every person that introduced themselves. It'd be good to look at the people that didn't show up later.
Once everyone had introduced themselves... "Okay. Does anyone have anything they want to say or ask about any house issues?"
