Where food comes from

Who: Cortez
Where: Woods past the chapel
When: about 5 AM

The aftermath was still tangible, even after the fires had died out. From where he sat, Cortez could see a faint haze in the air that doubtlessly came from the ashes that had been the compound. He would've loved more clothing; something to keep from feeling quite so grimy, but given how little had come out of the fire, Cortez wasn't going to complain.

crisis management 101

who: jason and people in/around the chapel
when: about 10 minutes after the explosion
where: in the doorway of the chapel

Jason had checked on a couple of things before he'd actually headed for the chapel. He had his stupid list with him, but really, he was more concerned with checking to see if anyone had oh, gotten their ass blown up. So far, it didn't look that way, and he'd of course made sure that the most important people to him were okay. Emma, Katalina...Dave he'd seen outside tending to someone who was hurt.

Five floors, five presents

Who: Stop asking so many questions
Where: First to fifth floor
When: Very, very late/early

Tasks like these were never easy; the result of long hours and careful planning, but they were always fun. And knowing what this one knew now, about the rooming situation around the house and the personal relationships that reflected it, now was the perfect time for some fun. It was early, too early for any of the morning exercisers or even the manic residents to be out prowling the hallways, which meant that final preparations could be tended to. There were, after all, some things that just couldn't be explained in the waking hours.

Panic in the Attic!

Who: Nic, Dan, and the attic residents minus Zhen!
When: Early Morning
Where: The Attic

Nic was wide awake before he even hung up the phone, jumping out of bed to pull on clothes. "Wake up," he told Dan, "People are missing. We need to get down to the foyer." That had been Dave's instructions, but Nic was already planning to make a stop along the way. He couldn't just run down there without checking rooms of the people he cared about.

Dave's wakeup calls

Who: Dave and nearly everybody
Where: Phone calls
When: Arse-early morning

Dave put down the phone to Jason and then started dialling each room in turn - starting at the top of the house and working his way down. He let the phone ring and ring and ring until either it was answered, or he marked the name off his list as 'not there'. Luckily with the room-overflow, he had a good idea of who was where, even if he had been largely out of touch for the last couple of days.

A Little, Tiny Birthday Party

Who: Nic, Dan, Zhen, Matt, Lina, and Cortez
Where: Dining Room
When: Evening

Nic honestly wasn't sure who would show for dinner. Dan would be there, that he was certain about, but the rest could have every reason in the world to be somewhere else. He fully expected Torlin not to show. As the current target of the scientists' torture, she was welcome to stay in her room and hide under her bed. He hoped that wouldn't be the case. Getting out, among friends, would be good for her. The same went for Matt-- he knew that he was still upset about Jacie being removed. Zhen could still be curled up in her room, but Nic hoped that wasn't the case. This morning's tack attack had hurt her worse than the rest of them, but Nic hoped it was all physical. If it wasn't, she'd be the first person he went to visit tomorrow morning. And Lina, well, he just wasn't sure. She knew no one else in the group, but she'd been cool with him. If no one else showed, they were going to have a hell of a lot of food for two people.

He headed down to the dining room a few minutes early, sure Dan would be there a few minutes late. It didn't surprise him in the least that no one else was there yet, so he took a seat upon the table, playing with his new watch as he waited to see who showed up.

Sharp Things

who: The Attic People
where: hall
when: early morning(whenever the radio went off)

Twitch had been lightly sleeping. Nothing heavy, but then he didn't usually sleep heavily in the first place. Then of course there was the loud siren stuff going on, and he jolted awake, blinking. Was it another drugged day? No...it wasn't. Louie had gone to hide under the bed, and he stumbled towards his door to pull it open and stepped out to go find out what the hell was going on.

And stepped down onto a whole lot of unpleasantness. He scrambled, falling back on his butt in his room, but the tacks managed to get into the soles of both feet and part of one hand that had landed first to try to catch himself. He gave a strangled shout, trying to pull back all the more.

Overdue Meeting

Who: Open to all
When: 2 PM.
Where: The ballroom.

This felt a little weird. Lina had been to meetings and everything, and was never shy about voicing her opinions. But it still felt weird. She'd never been in charge of one before. Now she had called a meeting, and she was actually going to have to help direct it along. Well, this would be interesting.

At least it seemed like a lot of people had shown up. She hadn't done a headcount, but... maybe this would go okay. Lina waited a few minutes to make sure everyone who had intended on showing up had, and cleared her throat. "Okay, let's just get started." she said. "What I want out of this is for everyone to know who they're living with. Who their neighbors are, which people are on their floor, that kind of thing. I'd like for everyone to go around and introduce themselves, and say what floor they're on. After that we can talk about any concerns or questions anyone has."

I feel like a goddamn camp counselor. she thought, wanting to pull a face. She didn't. She just introduced herself like a good little authority figure, and had everyone else go around the room and do the same. She'd brought a list with her, and she made sure to mark off every person that introduced themselves. It'd be good to look at the people that didn't show up later.

Once everyone had introduced themselves... "Okay. Does anyone have anything they want to say or ask about any house issues?"

Clumsy

Who: Nic and Dan, then open to Zhen, then open to all on the 5th floor...
Where: Dan's room, then 5th floor
When: 4am onwards

It was a noise that woke Nic, but this time it wasn't laughter. It was loud and it was sudden and his ears rung till he couldn't ignore it, which could only have been seconds after it went off. "Make it stop," he muttered, rolling towards Dan, his hands barely batting at his boyfriend. The move seemed incredibly clumsy, even in the middle of the night. Maybe he wasn't near as awake as he thought he was.

Dan muttered something incomprehensible and opened bleery eyes. "Wha' th'uk?" he asked, lifting his head off the pillow. He felt like he'd been drinking - had he been drinking? He didn't remember drinking. "Wha'im izzt?" he added. Woah, but movement was hard.

On the trail

who: Jason, Cortez, Jesse, Nic, and Dan
where: out in the woods
when: shortly after leaving the house

The Masquerade 2

Who: Everyone! (second party thread)
Where: The Ballroom
When: All through the evening

The Masquerade

Who: Everyone
Where: The Ballroom
When: Early evening - Late night

Zhen had run around like a chicken with her head cut off most of the day, and it seemed to have paid off. Everything was set up, or it seemed to be, and she had music playing in the darkened ball room, the dance lights going. So it was nice and dark, but not too dark to see by. Either way, she was pleased. She had masks set out in the dining room, for those who couldn't find a costume or needed a mask, and they had all turned out pretty well with Dan's help.
