Private Entry

Mood:
Indescribable

"i used to be the smart one,
sharp as a tack.
funny that how skipping years ahead
has held me back.
i used to be the bright one,
top of my class.
funny what they give you,
when you just learn how to ask.

...

can't you just do it for me?
i'll pay you well.
fuck, i'll pay you anything,
if you could end this.
can't you just fix it for me?
it's gone berserk.
oh fuck, i'll give you anything
if you could make the damn thing work.
can't you just fix it for me?
i'll pay you well.
oh fuck, i'll pay you anything
if you could end this hell.

Private Journal Entry - APRIL 2, 2006

Gavin and I broke up.

We didn't even make it three full days.

At least I didn't love him.

Why should it hurt so bad?

Forgotten Weaknesses

Who: Nic and Dan
Where: Their Room
When: Afternoon

It was a slow day and Nic was loving it. It was the first in a long time that he was able to fall back into his routine. He woke at 8am, then went down to work out. There was a shower, then breakfast, then checking the computer. That was always something he liked to put off just a touch, due to the fact that it usually brought bad news. He'd rather not have that first thing in the morning if he could help it and today it just had to wait. That done, he found some time to practice the piano. He was actually sounding better, some of the more simple songs flowing together the way they should. He'd gone down for lunch, then returned to his room to read a book. It was boring, he was lazy, and he wasn't trekking through the woods on an unplanned hike. He loved it.

Dan had had an equally lazy day - and had been responsible for once, actually going down to see Dave to have his fingers checked out. He'd figured that he should do, since they'd taken quite a beating over the past few days and they were hurting more than they should. All seemed okay though, but the doctor had given him some slightly stronger painkillers, along with a lecture about taking more care - as if you could around this place - and that had been that. That done, Dan had headed back up to their room to stash the pills. He hadn't actually expected to find Nic there, but, as always, it was a pleasant surprise. "Hey honey - I'm home," he joked. Because, really, he could and that was all the excuse he needed.

Temporary Relocation

Who: Zania
Where: The Library
When: Night

The last twenty-four hours had been hell. Zania had spent them muttering angrily at herself in Italian, throwing her things around the room, and attempting to sleep. Sleep, it seemed, was the one thing she was incapable of. The big, fluffy bed did nothing for her but allow her mind to drift over Gavin's words, repeating them over and over. Each time they were different, words shuffled around to make things worse than before. Each time she wondered why she'd even thought to try.

Day 92 - Public Entry

Mood:
Sore

Christ, I'm sore in places I didn't even know existed. What's the verdict on yesterday? Anyone know what the point of all that was? Because I'm starting to think the whole 'experiment' thing is really a front for bad reality television. This voting shit seems to support my theory.

Seriously, though. What the hell? What possible scientific information could there have been in that?

TIME UPDATE

DAY NINETY-TWO – APRIL 2, 2006

Weather Report: The clouds have returned, but it's not yet raining. The day is a bit darker, and the air is very thick – with 100% humidity. Otherwise, the temperature's about the same as yesterday.

Events: Everything that was taken yesterday has been returned to its exact place, as if it was never gone at all. All the pets have been returned as well.

That aside, the scientists are doing things very differently today. Yesterday, there was only one available bedroom left. Today, there are two new housemates. Some math isn't adding up! Heidi has been put in the empty bedroom in the attic. Florian, however... well...

Florian will wake up on a couch in the living room, with all of his luggage and belongings surrounding him. Everyone will wake up to a note from the scientists on their computer. It reads:

Greetings,

We now have more housemates than we do bedrooms. Today, we have added two new roommates for you all – Heidi, who we have put in the attic, and Florian. Florian needs a bedroom.

One of you is going to give up your bedroom, for Florian.

There are several ways this can work. Four of your housemates, Kales and Emma, and Dan and Nicodemus, respectively, have already chosen to move in with someone and share a room. If any of you feel so inclined to offer to do so, and move in with someone else, you may speak up on the journal system.

If no one is willing to move in together, then one of you must move into the mirror room. We will provide a bed, dresser, and computer. If none of you will volunteer, then there is going to be a house vote. You will all vote on the person you believe deserves to lose their room. Heidi and Florian, as new housemates, are ineligible – you may not vote for them, and they may not vote or otherwise volunteer anything. At the end of the night, both Heidi and Florian will have their own rooms.

After reading this message, we require you all to respond with your vote. You may choose to explain why you believe that person deserves to lose their room, but it is not necessary. If someone volunteers to move out of their room, the vote will be closed. Otherwise, the result will be tallied at 6 PM.

Thank you.

And they're not kidding. Assuming no one volunteers to move out of their room, please reply with each of your characters with who they would vote for. (All comments are screened.)

But that's not all that's happening today! Oh no. First, Hannah gets a special message.
