crisis management 101
who: jason and people in/around the chapel
when: about 10 minutes after the explosion
where: in the doorway of the chapel
Jason had checked on a couple of things before he'd actually headed for the chapel. He had his stupid list with him, but really, he was more concerned with checking to see if anyone had oh, gotten their ass blown up. So far, it didn't look that way, and he'd of course made sure that the most important people to him were okay. Emma, Katalina...Dave he'd seen outside tending to someone who was hurt.
Meant he could kind of move forward now. He stood in the doorway and looked at the people inside, and those milling about just outside of it. "Listen up, everyone." he said, calling attention to himself even if he really hated this bullshit. "I went and checked out the supplies we've got, and we've got two main concerns to deal with and we should get on that right now. There are twelve two person tents in the shed. So, anyone who's willing to share with someone, speak up now. Since we're lacking for shelter right now, no one's going to get one to themselves. You might be able to squeeze three people into a tent if you're feeling overly affectionate, and with as many people as we've got, I wouldn't discourage anyone from that. There are 12 lamps and sleeping bags that go with the tents, I suggest conserve batteries as much as you can."
"People can stay in the chapel, but we don't want to overload that either, plus, the doc needs part of it for medical purposes, so the less people milling around in here possibly getting sick? All the better. People can stay in the shed, and there's the boat house too off at the lake. I know there's a lot of boats in there, though I don't know if any of them are actually comfortable or anything like that. But it's there, people can take a walk and go see for themselves."
"There's a few camp cooking sets, which brings me to our other major concern--there's what...just over forty of us? We're going to need food. I'm figuring on taking a couple people and going hunting, there's a few things in the shed that can be used for that. Anyone who can help with anything like that, even if it's just wandering in the woods to see if there's a decent sized berry patch anywhere nearby--do it. Others should get together to concentrate on getting us some decent fire wood, since we will probably need it. Anyone who wants to try and get temporary shelters built? That would be great. If anyone happens to have skills that would help us out right now? Speak up. If you don't know how to do anything, look for something you can help with. The house just blew up, and we're in the middle of nowhere. There'll be something just about everyone can do."
"The only people who should be taking it easy at current are people who are sick or hurt. If you're injured--try not to fuck yourself up any worse. That won't really help." He stopped, and looked around at everyone, waiting for either questions, or people to pipe up with anything they wanted to be helping with.

Well Jason took charge of
Well Jason took charge of things pretty damn well. Just as well, as he'd been the one to check out the shed. She didn't think a free-for-all 'do something helpful' would work though - in this group, if you let people do what they wanted, they'd sit around and wait to be provided for.
"I think we're going to have to split everything into groups with someone in charge of each. Shelters, food, water... I don't want anyone going off into the woods to find food alone or without letting the group know where they're at. People die that way. Kales, you and I could go hunting together, we've done that before. And I hope that no one has any personal attachments to those chickens out back." What was left of them, anyway. One had become decoration at Zania's door a while back. That still left a couple at least, but that wouldn't feed even half the group.
Jason glanced at her,
Jason glanced at her, leaning his back against the doorframe. "Yeah, I know that. But I don't know what half of these people are even able to do. I'd rather give people the chance to speak up to say if they're even remotely good at anything. Then we can make groups. And if no one says shit, then they'll get grouped up however. Strongest, capable looking people first for shelters." He was thinking a lot of the girls, could look to see if there was any edible vegetation in the area. He paused as he eyed Katalina again. "...I've been trying to figure out if I want to even attempt suggesting fishing in the lake." Because they knew what was in the lake. Sort of. Or they had very strong suspicions.
Ever since Jason had
Ever since Jason had returned, Emma had been doing her best to stay close to him in some way or another. She was sitting as close to the door as possible with the bundle of animals in her arms, and was very obviously listening in. Because at that suggestion, she squeaked. She realized she did it two seconds after she did, and she winced and busied herself with making sure Bubbles wasn't being smothered.
"I don't think we'll be able to stop people." Lina said quietly, after a slight shrug. "You won't have to suggest it, once people put two and two together, they'll just want to do it. The question is whether or not we want to voice concerns over that. I don't know if it could hurt them or not."
Drew had been kind
Drew had been kind of...fretting. His mind kept grinding over the list that had been read off. The problem with it was there was a name that had been called, and he'd walked around, he'd kind of taken note of people, even taking Rin for a short walk to see about anyone else, and there was just someone not there. Flat out, she wasn't anywhere, at least, not that he'd seen. So, after looking around some more, he made a decision. He went up to where Kales and Lina were talking, and kind of cleared his throat as he got there, hands shoved into his pockets. He looked over to where he'd left Rin--she didn't want to be left alone right now, and had been kind of attached to his arm since he'd found her, but he didn't particularly think she needed to hear this. So! Yeah. He'd asked her to sit tight for a few minutes.
"So, um...while Mr. ...Ordery Guy does that, can I talk to you for a minute?" He asked. Jason shot him a raised eyebrow, and Drew gave a sheepish sort of half smile that said 'I was just kidding, please don't hit me'. Which seemed to work, so score for that.
Lina's expression kind of mirrored Jason's, but she nodded and stepped away from Jason. She was starting to notice that anytime something seriously fucked up went down, Drew was around. And not in a bad YOU DID IT, DIDN'T YOU sort of suspicious way, he was just present. Continuously involved. "What's up?"
He kind of tugged her along towards the corner of the building, away from where people could listen in, and immediately thought after he did that, that he probably shouldn't have touched her, but still. Right. Um. What was he doing again? Name! "So I think someone died." he blurted out quietly when they were around the corner, in the shadow of the chapel from the merry firelight that was the remains of the house. "I mean--I think so. There's someone that was on the list for roll call, and I haven't seen her around, and I don't think she is, and I took a walk to see, and she's still not, and so yeah sorry, I um..." he took a breath. "I think she's dead." He leaned over to glance towards the building. "...and if she isn't, then she's really wishing she were by now."
Lina was willing to ignore the touching of it all, making a special exception for the whole 'fiery death house' situation of it all. She raised an eyebrow at his admission, and just stared at him like that for a moment. It was a very steady expression, but her head was a loud, loud place. In fact, she kind of felt like she wanted to throw up. So... did someone just die on my watch? Is that what this qualifies as? "Who?" she asked, quietly.
"Heidi...she was in the attic." Drew said. "I never really erm...officially met her or anything, but I haven't seen her." he said. He fidgeted, shuffling his feet as he looked down at them for a long time, then back up at the house, and finally back to Lina. "I have a good memory." he attempted to explain. Phenomenal memory, actually. Damn near photographic. Or maybe it was, whatever. But he would have seen her by now, or so he thought. It had been at least an hour, probably heading past two and onward to three by now.
"Who did a head count? How did they know who to look for?" Shit, she wouldn't even be able to do a headcount from memory. Maybe there was a chance she just wasn't in the house anymore.
"Bob was doing it first, then like, Andre got up and started calling out names, and Kaori was helping him with that. Basically, this chick's not checked in, and she's the only one I haven't seen, either. Like everyone else, some people are still kinda milling around and haven't checked in per se yet, but I know they're here?" he said. He rolled his eyes at himself after a pained sort of look, thinking he probably sounded like a nutjob.
Fuck, fuck, fuck. So, okay, there was room for a margin of error, but she was going to go with the assumption that Bob had been very Boblike and had made a neat little list he carried everywhere with him because he wanted to be hot shit and fall asleep feeling important, so assuming that, there was a good chance she was probably still in-house. And if so, yeah, she's probably dead. Lina had done a check around the grounds, Jason had checked the shed... she could send a party to check the boathouse, and tell Kaori what the situation was. "Are you good to see if she's hiding in the boathouse for some crazy reason?"
Drew blinked and looked stunned for a second. "Me? I erm...yeahsure." he mumbled all together. "I can do that. Um. Annnnnd I'll just be getting on that right now then." he said, pointing towards the boathouse. "Yeah. Going. I just have to get Rin. She's um. Nervous." he rambled, then shoved his hands back into his pockets, starting back towards the doors. He paused. "...sorry." he added, about the news. Or having to tell her the news or something.
Lina was a little confused as to, well, maybe just Drew altogether. He was a weird little man, but like she'd been thinking earlier - involved. And he probably had enough of a brain to figure out that in order to get to the boathouse, he'd have to walk around the fiery death house and not through it, so that put him up a few points on at least a dozen people here. "Let me know, don't tell anyone else until we figure out what the fuck to do."
Drew glanced back again. "There was a reason I just told you." he said. Then gave a weak, apologetic half smile and disappeared into the chapel to get Rin.
Lina sighed and crossed the
Lina sighed and crossed the room to Kaori, not saying anything, just nodding her head in the direction of an unoccupied corner. Foreboding, maybe, but she didn't really think there was protocol for this shit. Though by now, dammit, they might want to fucking think about making some.
Kaori noticed, and immediately headed over, giving Lina a concerned look when she got there. "What's the matter?" she asked. "...beyond the obvious." Because there was a great deal wrong at current, really. Whole worlds of wrong. Buckets full were just dumped on the lot of them. But Lina kind of looked...slightly more specifically dire. If she were just going over to tell her about a bit of a game plan, she probably wouldn't need a bit of privacy. Or, maybe the house was making her paranoid.
"Someone's missing." she said, very quietly. "Drew brought it to my attention, I just sent him and Rin to the boathouse to make absolute sure. Kales was in the shed, I did a round around the main grounds to make sure there were no stragglers. So if she's not there..." Did she really need to finish that?
And that would be why the dire. And apparently, the mild hope in the back of Kaori's mind that it was paranoia talking died a horrible death. "I see." she said. "Who?" she asked, looking at the list she still had, and all the names crossed off of it. There were still some on there that she was hoping would check in, but she hadn't had time to look specifically yet, and she had figured most people would have at least someone screaming bloody murder that their friend was missing.
"Heidi." Lina answered. She didn't know the girl. She vaguely remembered seeing her on the journals a lot for a short time, and that she'd disappeared and come back again. How wonderful for her.
A light frown formed between Kaori's brows. She nodded, however, and the name on her list was glaringly unchecked. "I feel it best if we don't announce this immediately." she said. "Right now, we need to concentrate on getting everyone organized and making sure they're alright. Is there anyone else that's totally unaccounted for that you're aware of?"
At least they were of the same mind. Lina really didn't want to let the group know that someone was possibly dead, when she wasn't even one hundred percent sure she was still in-house today. She'd have to ask Bob, he'd probably know. She decided that she couldn't possibly allow herself to deal with the fact that someone might have died in there right now. She just couldn't. She had to prioritize, or something like that. "Not that I know of. Who's left on the list?"
"A few people...really I think we just need to get everyone together. I know there are still people who haven't come in to sign in. I've taken a few looks around outside though and I'm pretty sure most everyone's accounted for. I wouldn't know Heidi on sight however. Did Drew mention if he would? Is he sure?" She had to check, even if she didn't figure there was hope there if it had been brought to Lina's attention in the first place.
"He seemed sure. And he used the phrase 'I haven't seen her', so he must at least know what she looks like." Lina answered. "I don't know who her friends are, if she had any, to get any other opinions, and I don't really want to spread a panic anyway."
"Agreed. Alright then, I'll keep it in mind, and if we can get everyone organized here now...I see Kales is playing foreman, it'll probably be easier to get the full count and list. If there's anyone around that seems fairly injured but still wants to attempt to help--there's the storage here in the chapel that can be gone through to see if there's anything vaguely useful." Kaori suggested.
"Agreed." Lina said with a nod. "I'll check back in when things are more organized."
.
"Nic and I can share a tent," Dan offered, heading over to Kales once it appeared he was free again. He broke off from speaking into a wracking cough - he'd inhaled far too much smoke. That said, though, he was otherwise unhurt. Just dirt and stinking to high heaven. He doubted he'd ever be clean again - other people might be able to rinse off in the lake, but not Dan. No way. He'd prefer to be dirty than that - and that was saying something. "And I'll help out with whatever needs doing if I can," he finally added, when he could speak again. He just wasn't sure if he really had any transferable skills for this kind of thing. Everything he had just went up in smoke, and he wasn't the outdoorsy, scouty type.
.
Torlin had been listening to Kales talk, and when Dan went over to talk to him, she kind of trailed along behind. She'd left the animals with Kaylin, who really needed to sit down and breathe better, and she didn't think the other woman would mind what she was about to do. "Kaylin and I can share a tent," she said quietly, glancing at Emma. She'd of course want to sleep with her boyfriend, and there wasn't anybody else Tor wanted to 'room' with. "I don't know much about any of this stuff, but I'll help wherever I can," she added. Then glanced at Dan and back to Kales. She may as well say it, no one would care at this point. "But I might have a problem. All my epilepsy meds just blew up. I was gonna tell Dave, but ... he's kinda busy." So at least one person in charge knew.
..
Andre stood up and stretched. He'd been inactive for far too long and was itching for something to do. "This ain't no time to be modest, so I'll go ahead and say it. I'm probably the strongest person we got here, so you put me wherever that'll do the most good. If that's chopping wood or building shit, then great. I'm ready." He looked around at his housemates. Half of 'em looked like a stiff wind was gonna knock 'em over. Washington, what the hell have you got your fat ass into this time?
...
Zania stood to the side, watching as people approached Kales. She shifted her weight from one foot to the other, debating stepping forward versus just keeping quiet. She could take care of herself, she was sure, but some people were hurt. Some didn't seem the sort to know anything about survival, and while she didn't have all that many skills of her own, this was something she could actually manage. She waited until there was an opening for her to step up and made her way over to him, finding her voice hoarse from all the smoke she'd inhaled. "I can build shelters," she said. "I've done it before. Or I can cut wood." She might not be fast at the latter, but she was capable enough.
Sarah waited, considered.
Sarah waited, considered. She was exhausted. She felt like crap, her chest hurt and her throat burned. All she wanted was to curl up and sleep but she couldn't sit back and watch everyone else help and not lift a finger herself. She'd kept her on eye on Dan since they left the house, but she couldn't cling to him forever. He had his own stuff to do. Sarah walked up beside Zania, brushing her hair away from her face. "I can help. Build shelters, I mean." Damn it hurt to talk.
"Fine, you three, start
"Fine, you three, start working on shelters. If anyone else wants to help you, fine, let them in on whatever you're coming up with, and get what help you can to get it done." Jason said, noting Sarah, Zania and Andre.
He looked to Torlin for a long moment, remembering carrying her downstairs to the medical level when she'd had a seizure. "Stick close to Dave or Millie, when you get a tent, make sure it's right outside this building." he said. Fuck. He wondered how many other people needed medication they weren't going to be getting now. "If anyone else has conditions or any shit like that that needs to be addressed--talk to Millie." he said, jerking a thumb at the nurse who was still over by the field hospital stuff set up by the alter. "Torlin, you want to get a few people together to go look for anything edible in the near woods?" he asked. Berries, would be good. Anything like that. "Just don't go far, and stay together as much as you can, within sight distance at least."
Artemis listened to the guy
Artemis listened to the guy who seemed to be taking charge right now, and sighed. Getting up she walked towards him, hands shoved inside her hoodie. She waited for the people around him to stop talking, then spoke up in her quiet expressionless voice. "Call me crazy, but should we be spreading everybody around that much? I haven't been here long, but judging from what happened today, this place seems a little whacked. Is it wise to have half of us camped at the boatshed, half of us at the shed, half of us in tents and half of us in the chapel?"
She felt slightly embarassed, because that was quite a long talk for her, but her stare was still somewaht defiant. In the back of her mind she realised that four halves were two too many.
"What I mean is, if we're going to split people up, shouldn't there be some sort of order to it? If you're sending people out into the woods, shouldn't there be some sort of.. 'everybody meet back in 1/2 an hour so we can do another roll call and make sure no one has been swallowed by who-knows-what?'"
Jason looked over at some
Jason looked over at some chick he'd never seen before, and barely resisted the urge to roll his eyes. "Well, maybe if you'd give people ten fucking minutes to get organized--that would be the 'order' part you're talking about--then there'd be the bit where we all say we're going to get back as soon as we can." he said. "As for not spreading out--there isn't room. The chapel here isn't going to hold everyone, not by a long shot. So, we're going to have to. Not only that but if something decides to fuck up in one place, it doesn't hit everyone." Because if oh, say wolves attacked...which he wasn't bringing up right now at all, then hey, maybe not everyone would be killed and eaten. Or maybe he was cynical. Oh wait. He was. The other thing he was thinking about was that not everyone was going to want to stay in the same place. Flat out, people were a little scattered, and there were people who didn't get along with others period. Sticking them all on top of one another and waiting for them to start going lord of the flies on everyone wasn't the best plan he'd ever heard. He also kept that to himself though, because why start the downgrade of everything sooner than one had to? "If you want to help, help Torlin, or help with the shelters." Being she didn't look terribly injured or anything.
Artemis narrowed her eyes at
Artemis narrowed her eyes at him, then gave him an eerie smile. "As you wish." She pulled out a cigarette and lit it, inhaling. Dickhead. Obviously there isn't enough room, I'm not brain dead..
She blew out the stream of smoke and it happened to go direclty into his face. Whoops. My bad. She gave him an obviously fake smile once more. "Who's Torlin?"
.
Torlin very nearly physically startled at the girl's reaction to what Kales told her. Especially the smoke-blowing. The words oh no, don't do that bubbled up in her throat, but she managed not to say them. You just ... you didn't do that ... "I'm Torlin," she said, taking a half-step sort of forward and in Artemis' direction. She didn't know Kales well, obviously, but all of them were stressed and on edge and he was a murderer, even though he was Emma's boyfriend and he'd always been nice to her, but oh dear, you just didn't do that kind of thing ... She was glad she had a reason to look nervous anyway. "If you want to help look for berries and stuff, I know a couple of other people who might help too," she offered quietly, hoping that there wouldn't be a confrontation. They had too much else to do, and ... and yeah, machete-murderer.
Artemis kept her eyes coldly
Artemis kept her eyes coldly on Jason but addressed Torlin. "Artemis." She then very deliberately turned her back on him and looked towards the girl. "Berries huh. Sure. All over it."
Taking another drag of her cigarette she looked about, blowing out the smoke, then back at Torlin. "How do you want to do this exactly? Pairs? Groups? Smoke signals?"
.
Clearing his throat to announce himself, Cortez stood from where he'd been keeping Hannah company. "I profess that I am no hunter, but in my youth we built snares for rabbits that often worked, perhaps I could assist in the food-gathering? If not, I am perfectly willing to help wherever I may be needed." He folded his hands neatly in front of him, glancing between the others who had spoken up as he mentally weighed where he might best fit in.
Past Cortez, Ben sat on the floor with his guitar case still held defensively close, desperate not to let go of it if he could help. Being inside the chapel helped calm his nerves, but time was ticking away with no medication to look forward to, and it sounded as though people weren't planning to stay here for long. "Shelters," he rumbled over, running hands along the curves of the case. "I can build. Not leaving though, bad out there. Bad all round."
Andre looked at his "crew".
Andre looked at his "crew". A crazy Italian chick, a pasty-ass English gal, and a hippie who looked like he wanted to hump his guitar. A quality workforce to be sure. He sighed. This was gonna be worse than that Survivor crap. "All right then. Anyone else wanna give us a hand?" He figured he'd better take control of this or all they'd build was a god damned jungle gym. "First thing we gotta figure out is where we're gonna put this, and the second is what we're gonna build it out of."
Joy was still sitting in the front row, her foot propped up, waiting for the nurse to get around to her. Either the irritation of waiting or the fact that it had been 2 whole hours since her last smoke was getting to her, and she would occasionally let the world know her annoyance by letting out a sigh or groan. When conversation began turning to work, she knew she wanted nothing to do with it. "I'd love to help, but with my ankle in the shape it's in, I'd just slow people down. Besides, I don't know if she said anything to anyone, but Janie is my baby sister, and I really think I'd better stay close to her. She doesn't look well, and it would just kill me if anything happened to her."
Esmé sat on the bench, nearly catatonic herself. She'd decided that she no longer cared what people thought about her. Let them think she was helpless. She'd decided not to even bother with taking her earplugs out anymore. The silence was comforting, in a way. If she couldn't hear the bad news, it was like it didn't happen. So she sat in silence, head bobbing, fingers and toes twitching, arms and legs making their own small movements without her knowledge or consent, and waited.
...
"I'll head out and start taking count of what we've got to work with," Zania told Andre, motioning for Sarah to follow. She knew there were supplies of some sort, and then there were the other things, trees and all, that might be of help. One thing she was always good for was using whatever was around. It'd be nice to have a certain amount to start with though. Leaving Andre inside to gather up anyone else that might want to help, Zania headed outside.
....
Davis listened silently as Jason spoke, waiting as a few other people volunteered and waiting for a lull in the voices before stepping forward to offer. "I'm pretty good with plants - mushrooms and the like. I can probably pick out which are edible." They'd had a few horses poisoned from plants - unusual, since they were usually pretty good about not eating what would hurt them - so he'd read up on plants and such. He wasn't an expert, but he could probably be of some help. "In the daylight, anyway," he added needlessly.
"Once we figure out supplies and get everyone settled - maybe we should think of moving? I understand the woods are dangerous for a single person, but if we move en masse, so to speak, and take along whatever weapons you intend to use to hunt with - we'd have to get somewhere eventually, no?" he asked, after a moment's thought.
Andre looked over at Davis.
Andre looked over at Davis. He wasn't so hot on the idea of mushrooms, but he figured the guy wasn't entirely stupid. "It ain't a bad idea," he said thoughtfully, "but look around. Half these people can't walk, if they're conscious at all. Meanin' it's gonna be a while until we can go anywhere. Unless you wanna carry someone, cause I sure as hell don't." He looked around- he saw one girl completely out, he knew the doc had gone after another one, the chick with the glasses just creeped him out, and then there was... whoever under the blanket. Yeah, that's 4 people who wouldn't do them no good. "At least till we get people where we can get 'em up and out, we best be making do with what we got."
....
Davis looked over at the big man and then gestured vaguely down to his knee. "I'm not built like a pack animal," he answered dryly. He shrugged. "And I didn't necessarily mean immediately. It just seemed that if anything was going to allow us to move as a group, it was going to be the fact that there's no great big fucking house hardwired to keep us in."
But the guy had a point, he'd seen the prone bodies too. He wondered if there was anything around with wheels they could bastardize into makeshift wheelchairs. Or someone could. Unless it was rigging a martingale from broken strips of leather, he wasn't much good with things like that.
Andre looked back to where
Andre looked back to where Zania and Sarah had gone outside. He probably should go with them to make sure they didn't do anything stupid. "Well, kid, we'll worry about all that when the time comes," he said, looking at Davis again. "Right now, these motherfuckers need some food or something. So you go pick some berries or something. We gonna be working hard today, and people gonna need some fuel in their bodies." He headed out after the girls, then turned to look at Ben. "You comin', Grizzly Adams?" He didn't wait for a response, but just headed outside.
"You're a very eloquent
"You're a very eloquent man," Davis offered, almost sincere enough that the dripping sarcasm wasn't entirely obvious. But he nodded in agreement, not bothering to argue. It was something he could manage, so he'd do it. Provided he could see.
...
Bob listened as Jason Kales stepped up to organize things, trying to give his full attention. His mind kept wandering as people spoke up, still trying to account for everyone. Had they all really managed to make it out of the mansion?
"I'll help wherever needed," he said quietly. He didn't have any wilderness survival skills to speak of, but at least he was uninjured and able to work.
Aamir hung back, taking it all in. He wanted no part of their plans. He could fend for himself. He had his own plans.
"I can look for food," Aamir said. Better to volunteer than to be assigned a job and have to argue. Because he was not going to build shelters. Or whatever these spoiled Western women might cobble together and call a shelter. Worthless, was what they would be. Aamir didn't want to waste his time.
Vivian grimaced at the
Vivian grimaced at the thought of work. Really, after running for her life through a fire, they expected her to forage for mushrooms and squirrels or play campfire girl and put up a tent? Ridiculous. Of course, she knew better than to say any of this aloud, what with how uppity everybody seemed to be.
"I'll help gather food, I suppose," she sighed, not sounding at all thrilled. "I can fish, if there's a rod and bait." For some reason, that task seemed very familiar. Oddly, Vivian couldn't remember ever going fishing before...Oh, Daddy probably took you when you were very young. Some family bonding trip, no doubt.
Cal, meanwhile, was staying silent. He was tempted to speak up for the shelters, offer his expertise in making sure the damn things didn't come crashing down over their heads at the first rainfall. He'd be able to help out with the building, too, at least until pricklings of pain he was starting to feel turned into a full attack in an hour or two. He was worried, though. Physical labor certainly didn't help keep the pain at bay, that was for sure, and without his pills...
No, he'd keep quiet for now. Let the last of the fog clear, see how he was managing after that. If people had a problem with that, well, Cal had a perfectly good ass they could kiss.
...
"Tents are outside," Nic told Kales, having rejoined the group. Once they'd gone through the shed, Nic had started to move the immediately useful items closer to the chapel, starting with the tents. They would need setting up, and it sounded like Kales was busy assigning people to various tasks. "Dan and I could help with shelters," he offered, glancing at his boyfriend. Nic knew how to set up a tent just fine, and after that, he knew Dan had the carpentry skills to at least help with the homemade shelters. It seemed like a good place to start, though Nic would be fine being placed just about anywhere. There was definitely plenty to do.
