Gathering

Mood:
Worried

Who: Torlin and anybody who wants to pick berries!
When: after orders are given out
Where: the woods, dur

Torlin had done as Kales said and gotten a group together to go look for natural things to eat in the woods. She really wished she'd had the wherewithal to get some slippers on before she ran out of the house, but ... c'est la vie. She had socks on, and that was more than some people. She was trying to stay in sight of the chapel -- also as instructed -- and keep their bearings as well as she could. She wasn't sure if they'd actually find anything, but it was something to do, and she wasn't exactly good at anything else they needed. So berry-hunting it was.

Artemis stomped through the

Artemis stomped through the low bushes, happy for once that she slept in her clothes and had the foresight to put on boots. That being said, she surveyed the surrounding woods with her usual dose of enthusiasm. Goodie. End sarcasm.

Sighing n disgust she turned to Torlin, "So we're meant to keep in sight of the chapel, but go far enough to find food. That's going to work out great."

Frowning she turned about in a circle, knowing there was shit all in the way of provisions. It wasn't like a hamburger was just going to fall from the sky. And then an idea floated up from the murky water of her mind. "Or.. we could have one person in sight of the chapel, and then another person in sight of that person, then one in sight of that person.. and so on.."

She glanced at Torlin. "That might actually work. We'd definitely cover more ground."

Though the girl's --

Though the girl's -- Artemis, she reminded herself -- disposition was not even in the neighborhood of friendly or even cooperative, her suggestion was a good one. Torlin looked around at the rest of the people who'd joined them on the hunt. She wasn't sure how she'd become the leader of this group when all she wanted to do was find a sunny spot to curl up in and cry, but she'd try. They had to eat something sometime, and she was already hungry. "How does that sound to everyone? Who's got shoes? Maybe those people could go in deeper ..." She bit her lip.

"I don't have shoes, but I

"I don't have shoes, but I don't mind going barefoot in the woods, either." Zhen said. She sounded tired, and she was. Her mind kept going back to the room who's door was shut that she thought someone might have died in, and Fluffy, burning to death. Bad, bad thoughts. There were no markers for them to put on the trees right now, at least, not unless she wanted to start tearing up her clothes, which she didn't think was the wisest of decisions. "So...I don't mind taking point, I suppose." she added. "It'll be fine."

"Are you sure?" Torlin asked

"Are you sure?" Torlin asked Zhen before she could really stop herself, even though the girl had said she'd be fine. She really wasn't good at this whole taking charge thing, looking nervous and unhappy and chewing on her bottom lip. She was from a rich family in the north, what did she know about wild food? How about nothing. But hey, she was doing what she could. She glanced around at those gathered and nodded. "Okay, Zhen, then ... you," she said, looking at Tisi. "Then me." She then pointed to Artemis and Davis in turn. "Then you guys," she said, hoping that would work out for everyone. "... if that's okay?"

"Sure, sweetie." Zhen

"Sure, sweetie." Zhen assured Torlin, giving her a light smile, then she started heading off.

Tisi sort of hovered by, waiting until Zhen had gotten a bit out before she started, and while she waited, she glanced to Torlin. She gave a half smile. "It's okay." she said for everyone. "Is there really that much of a danger that anything will happen out here? I mean...the scientists can't mess with us for a little while now, right? And...okay everyone's assuming the scientists won't help. Why is that exactly? Is this another test?"
