Who: Liadán and open!
When: Just after dark.
Where: Outside Wild Cathedral (on Washington Street).
It was shaping up to be a good night, as far as the parlor went. The fact that she'd met another angel was still a little weird for Liadán, and she could not ignore several alarming factors about the entire situation, but it'd probably lead to repeat business, and he wasn't a bad contact to have. She'd had some other business come in after him, which was a good break from the usual slow pace of having a place like Wild Cathedral in a town like Marquette.
She was debating celebrating her small victory over boredom by ordering a pizza when she heard a large rumbling - something that she felt in her heart and made glass shake. Oh fucking hell, what now? Her natural reaction was to think that there was no good reason for something to be making a sound like that in a town this small, but hey! It was Marquette! Psychotic seventh layer of hell Marquette! So there probably wasn't a good reason. There was probably a very bad reason. So Liadán dragged her ass out of her chair and out into the street.
This is not a drill.

Who: Charlotte.
When: About 9:30.
Where: Her house.
Charlotte had spent the evening curled up in her room, more specifically in her own little world with a notebook. She'd made the calls she needed to, and sent a few e-mails, and now she was writing up ideas. She had completely lost track of time, pausing only to flick her bedside light on when the sun set. When the phone rang - the house phone, not her cell phone, it startled her enough to leave a scratch across her notebook with her pen.
She waited a moment to see if her mom would answer it, and then remembered that she'd never heard her mom get back. Late nights in Harvey were not unheard of, one of the mares had been sick the past few days. Charlotte put her things aside and went to answer the phone.

Who: In various groupings: billy dean joshua lullaby maddie oz and sophie
Where: All over the damn place!
When: After dark
The world was swimming as Billy drove up the road to Oz' house. It was a damned good job that there was no other traffic and that the place wasn't far, because he was swerving all over the place. His head was throbbing, the world wouldn't keep still, and he only had one hand that wanted to help with the whole 'working' thing. He clipped the corner as he pulled the battered truck into the gravel driveway of his friend's house and swerved to a stop, pushing down far too hard on the brake. He felt the pain lance through him as he jerked forward, then back and for a moment he lost his breath. This was the part where he got out of the car, he knew. But he didn't want to move. He was tired and his head was spinning. He should just sit here for a while. Maybe sleep for a bit.

Who: Herbert and Sammy
Where: The land of texting
When: Late, around 11
The first thing Herbert did when he got home was throw up. He felt like he never wanted to eat anything ever again-- which was not the way to feel when autumn was settling in, but the very thought of food made him want to throw up again. The second thing he did was brush his teeth. Twice. So that was the second and third thing he did. Or did it count as two things, since it was the same thing? His brain felt like it wasn't working quite right.

Who: Mya and Brian
When: A little after nightfall
Where: Over the phone
When Mya got home she’d fallen right asleep, crashed was more like it. She didn’t even change out of her work clothes. She slept most of the afternoon and would have probably stayed asleep if it hadn’t been for the sirens. Stirring Mya woke and walked outside to see if she could see where the noise was coming from. They seemed a bit distant so not directly in her neighborhood. With a furrow of her brow she went back inside and turned on the news.
By the time the remote hit the floor she was already dialing the diner. Fire was bad, and it wasn’t even a Monday.

Where: Nevermore then a few blocks south of Washington
Harper had heard the explosion, it was loud and only a few blocks away. The sound of sirens and smell of smoke that found it's way down the block was reason enough for Harper to close up shop early. She did all the closing work and locked up before heading out. Things were slower than she may have like seeing as she kept getting flashes of flames, gunfire and other things that reminded her of waving limbs. Tonight was not a good night.

"Wow, someone listening, wouldn't that be novel?" she asked sarcastically.

Hi. It's me. Olivia. I was just calling to make sure you were okay. With some of the stuff going on in town... some people in Babylon are saying vampires, some saying it's just some psychopaths causing trouble, but I don't know for sure. But it's bad, I think. From what I heard. Someone said gunshots were heard at the park and a gas station was set on fire and... look... I just hope you're okay. And safe. I'm getting ready to go home, so if you... just be careful if you're out okay? Okay. Bye.

Who: Dexter
Where: His place/Ridge Street
When: 1 AM
Was her name Jenna? Jennifer? Janine? Dexter couldn't remember in the aftermath of it all, and he didn't really care either. Stretched out in bed, sheets tangled around one leg, he watched as the girl he'd brought home dressed in the near-dark of the bedroom. Streetlights spilled through the gaps in the blinds, washing over her back as she pulled a bra on and gave a raspy breath that threatened tears. He'd run into her hours earlier over a private, celebratory drink to mark the passing of his captive, and Dexter had recognized the girl. He'd first seen her with her friends on the street days earlier, and what had just been his normal bragadoccio had apparently made an impression on her. So, when they'd crossed paths again that night in Remie's? Well, Dexter decided he'd have to back up the impression he'd made. She bought the drinks, of course, and he sat through her stories of college and friends and exes and highschool glory days that were already behind her. It was the least he could do, considering what he'd planned once she'd had enough to drink.

Who: HUnt and open!
Where: Lower Harbour park
When: Just after dark
Hunt had been out to the store to pick up some groceries and was driving home when he heard it. He didn't like to be out this late - he tried to get everything done before dark and be home, safe in his own house. He wouldn't exactly say he was scared of the dark, but a sense of compulsion stopped him going out at night any more than was strictly necessary. This was a small town, but still - he blamed it on his childhood, that had to be it. But if hadn't gone that way - there'd been some trouble with a woman who was arguing with the cashier and a long cue and it had been darkening as he finally got out of there. Getting Mutt into the car hadn't been easy, then he had to get the groceries placed and it was full dark by the time they set off.
The scream ripped through the night, audible even over the stereo as they drove past Lower Harbour Park. Hunt's first instinct was to put his foot on the accelerator and get the fuck out of there. Someone else could investigate screams - there were police who's job that was. But it was a nice night and he'd had the window down so Mutt could hang her head out and enjoy the breeze and suddenly she was out of the car and racing off into the dark, after the scream.
"Mutt!" Hunt slammed his foot on the break, bringing the car to an abrupt standstill in the road as he called for his dog. Fuck - he couldn't go off without her. He pulled to the side of the road and turned the engine off, grabbing her leash from the back seat before he left the car and headed, slowly, into the park.
He didn't like the dark. Especially not a dark that contained screams. And look - just like a horror movie, right on cue, the scream sounded again, followed by what sounded like a sob. Hunt stopped, wary. "Mutt?" he called again, hoping the dog would run out of the night and they could get the hell out of here.
Nothing.
Then there was a bark in the distance. Then a yowl and Mutt did come running - or rather limping - out of the darkness. Hunt started to back off, ready to turn and run, his adrenaline already pumping as the dog drew level and he did just that. And that was when the laughter started. That cold, hard, hollow laughter that seemed to tell him that he was definitely going to die now. And not necessarily quickly.
Hunt ran, knowing something was chasing him. He tried to judge how far it was to his car - would he make it? He didn't know. But something was chasing him. And it was laughing - enjoying the hunt.

who: billy and maddie
where: the island
when: dusk
It was a nice night and Billy doubted there'd be that many more of them coming as they progressed into fall, with winter likely to arrive fast on its heels. You had to enjoy the good weather whilst it lasted. Plus, you had to enjoy the guy you were working for apparently being out of town, which left him with free days that he couldn't always fill with odd jobs for other people. Today had been one of those days and he'd spent it with Maddie, to the enjoyment of both of them. As night settled it, it found them on the island, just walking, enjoying being together and alone, where they could talk without anyone looking at the dreamwalker as if he were insane for holding an apparently one sided conversation with the air. It made all the difference in the world.
Maddie liked the island. When she wandered alone, she often went there. There was a lot of wildlife, and they were interesting to look at. "So, what're we watchin next?" she asked, watching him out of the corner of her eye. They'd started lately to rent seasons of things. It was different for Maddie. She didn't usually like keeping up with any television, because she couldn't be guaranteed to watch it regularly, but the season on dvd fixed that issue. So, they carefully picked out things that might be interesting. They'd just finished one up, and she was curious what he might bring home next. It wasn't like she was overly helpful in the decision making process--she had no idea what was out there.

Who: Joshua and Lullaby
When: afternoon
Where: Journey's house
Joshua tried to take a minute outside on the front porch before he went in. He was looking down at the books in his hands, and wondering -- stupidly, most likely -- just who's idea it had been for Dean to go get them, and how all that had gone down. And how things had gone last night, with them alone out at the orphanage, apparently playing with her abilities. Not that he thought anything happened, it just ... didn't do anything for his sense that he hadn't actually done anything for her. But that place was probably a death trap for him anyway. If there was a floor to collapse and drop you to your death, he'd probably find it, despite having been there before. But he could've brought her books, goddammit, that he could at least handle. He took a few breaths, told himself that he wouldn't let her know because she didn't need that on top of everything else, and walked into the house, looking around for her. "Lu?" he called overly loudly.
Lullaby happened to be in the living room, playing her millionth game of solitaire. The only good part about it was she knew several different types of it, so she could change it up now and then. The downside was it was her sitting around playing stupid cards all day when she was antsy to leave. Go outside, do anything that wasn't sitting inside playing soitaire. However, that wasn't doable, so she sat. And played, and waited. When she heard Joshua call for her, she looked up, then hopped up from where she was in the corner, smiling at him. "Hi!" she said, coming over to give him a kiss, and she looked at the stuff he was carrying. "Hey you'll be here in time for when Dean comes by too--though he said he can't stay. But he was supposed to bring books..." she paused, noting that one of the titles seemed pretty familiar in the sense that she was pretty sure that it was something Dean would have been bringing.

Who: Ash and Liadan
When: afternoon
Where: Wild Cathedral
Ash? Was in a good mood. He had an employee. He'd hung out with Eury a few times ... not as much as he would've liked, but work had her busy, so that was okay. And there were opponents on the way. All the evidence was there, and he had no doubt that they would be arriving any night now. Sure, that was concerning for the average citizen of Marquette, but he certainly wasn't that. His other work had been too quiet lately, and the restless feeling he'd been carrying around would soon have an outlet. But first ... He flicked his cigarette butt away as he approached the door to the tattoo parlor. He'd left Sasha in charge of the shop for now, since it didn't seem to be a busy day at all, and gone to seek out a place to have some touch-up work done. He hadn't been in here yet, it was worth checking out.
Liadán? Was in a bad mood. And had been for... fuck, weeks now. She'd found that kid and he was so fucked up, and then he disappeared on her. And she found out he wouldn't be coming by anytime soon, though maybe someday. She'd done everything sort of casing the schools to try and find him. Fortunately enough, she'd had to go to Detroit for a week, and it had presented her an opportunity to take out a lot of her aggression. She returned to work... well, not exactly chipper and healthy, but as good and professional as she was ever going to be, particularly in this shit town.

Who: Marlowe and Brian
Where: Mya's Diner
When: 4:15pm
She could have gotten the day off considering, and maybe she should have taken that option, but Marlowe felt she couldn't sit alone in a house that seemed to be crawling with memories. She wasn't going to wallow. And there was the fact that Marlowe had never missed a scheduled or swapped shift, and that was a trend she wasn't about to start now. Besides keeping busy with work would keep her mind occupied with other things. So there she was walking through the door of Mya's at fifteen minutes after four, a good forty-five minutes before the start of her scheduled shift. Putting on a smile, one that didn't exactly reach her eyes or reflect the true mood she was in, Marlowe headed for the back to grab her things before starting to work the occupied tables stationed in her section, the red head half expecting to run into Mya. As far as she knew Mya was the one who'd be closing up the place.
Brian was already in, and just finishing up a burger for a customer, the last of the various late-afternoon comers. He wasn't looking for Marlowe yet, seeing as her shift wasn't due to start for a while and though she was notoriously early, this was rather earlier than usual. The sight of that red hair was pretty unmistakable, though, and he shot her a smile. "Hey, Sparky. Look who's, like, an hour early or something."

Who: Isaac and Peyton
When: early evening
Where: Marsh house
Warning: rather NSFW
After the successful warding, Isaac had taken Thom home. Not at all ready to go home himself, he'd driven back to Peyton's house -- which really wasn't that far away anyway, nothing in Marquette was. He'd told her that he would be back, and he wasn't about to go back on that. No, he wanted some time with her, now that he was feeling worlds better about everything, and maybe she was too. At least a little. But hey, her place was warded, so she and Tyler were protected. Even if he didn't know it. Isaac parked and hopped out of the van again, heading up to the front door and just walking on in. Since the driveway was still empty. He hadn't been gone more than twenty minutes or so, after all. "Honey, I'm home!" he called out, a grin in his voice. Partially not to scare her, partially to see where she was at.
Peyton was at the window in back of the house next to the back door, sliding her fingertip around the edges of the pane. It was just like before, completely normal. She felt nothing there, saw nothing there now, but she had seen it turn purple earlier. And while it did smell a bit like incense in the house, it had a calming effect on her, enough that she was feeling better inside. Especially now, knowing her house was safe, and her brother and father. But more than that, she felt calmer inside knowing that Isaac seemed to be doing worlds better than he had been earlier. There was more sincerity in his smiles and something in his eyes that told her he would be okay. That was as much of a relief as anything. Peyton heard the door open and tensed until she heard his voice. Turning, she walked back to the living room. When she saw him, Peyton leaned against the wall, arms crossed against her chest. "I've had a long hard day of watching my boyfriend perform magic. So, I hope you're not expecting dinner on the table, or anything," she teased.
