Revelations

Who: Aiden and Shannon
Where: home
When: Morning
After a particularly exhausting morning, despite the few hours of sleep, Aiden returned home, eager to check on Shannon to make sure she was okay. He had told her to stay in - and with the chaos happening after sunset, he knew his sister wasn't stupid enough to disobey him on that particular demand. The windows and doors had all been locked and deadbolted. Locking his car, Aiden got out, lit a cigarette quickly and headed inside once he was able to get his key out and unlock the front door. "Shannon?" he called, his eyes sweeping along the living room to make sure everything looked okay and in place. If the Acherus stuck around much longer, he was going to get his sister a taxi and send her out of town until it was over. He was having a hard time not doing that right now and the only reason he resisted was because he knew she would fight him on it. "Shannon?"
Setting The Rules

Who: Aiden and Shannon
Where: Shannon's hotel room
When: Morning
Shannon had been up, and dressed, for at least an hour. The past night had left her on quite the weary side. For most people sleeping through the night generally left them re-energized and revitalized when morning came around, but for Shannon even though she had fallen asleep the night before at a decent hour and not waken until morning came around it had almost been like she hadn't gotten any sleep at all. Dreamwalking tended to have that effect on her.
With her back against the bed's headboard, Jasper lounging on her one side, a small pile of colored drawing pencils laying on the other, Shannon flipped open her sketchbook. Not really wanting to take a walk down to the restaurant for that traditional morning cup of tea just yet, and with not having any word or visit from her brother yet Shannon decided to fill a blank page or two of her sketchbook.
It took awhile for Aiden to wake up and get moving. He had a long night, a lot of pacing, drinking, smoking and more pacing. But after the sun peeked through the window, he rolled out of bed, took a shower and dressed before stumbling out of his hotel room. He scrubbed his hands over his face, adjusted his hat on his head, and went to his sister's room. He knocked and the stifled a yawn behind his fist. He knew she would be awake, and hoped she hadn't gone down to get coffee without him.
Decisions

"I liked the one on Lost Creek Drive." Shannon said once the Quinlan siblings were in Aiden's room. The pair had taken a look at a couple houses up for rent earlier that day. They had done the same the day prior, and though Shannon took a liking to a couple of the houses they had visited between the past two days, the one on Lost Creek, a nice little brick ranch, seemed to be the dreamwalker's preference of the lot.
Though her brother had said little about any of the residences they had walked into, he had taken the lead and asked those all important questions a possible renter would ask. In fact Aiden had done most of the talking while Shannon just looked around each place while she hovered behind her brother during the walk
throughs.
Wanting A Place To Call Home

Shannon rolled over to her side, eyes blinking open to focus on the red numbers of the digital clock that sat on nightstand next to her bed. Even though the time on the clock read a few minutes after nine, that compiled with the fact that Shannon had slipped into bed the previous night just after ten should have had the red head feeling well rested at the mid morning hour, but Shannon was feeling anything but. It felt almost as if Shannon hadn't gotten an ounce of sleep within the past eleven or so hours. And she knew well what the cause was behind that. She had dreamwalked last night. Wandered into a strange and somewhat disturbing, if not slightly terrifying, dream. It had almost seemed like a puzzle to her that was missing many of its pieces, an enigma she had been nowhere near to figuring out.
Trying to rub the weariness from her eyes with a fisted hand, Shannon rolled her feet out from beneath the covers and over the side of the bed where they slowly slipped into the fuzzy pink slippers on the floor beside the bed as she sat up. And it was from there that Shannon stood to pad across the floor toward the bathroom to start her morning dressing routine.

Silence had pretty much trailed them from the exterior of the hotel to Shannon's room. And she knew it wouldn't last but mere seconds once the door to her room had been closed after their entrance into it. She knew Aiden would have much to say about her being outside of the hotel at night, and in the company of strangers, well, stranger as she knew full well that his lack of acknowledgement of Eric and Theresa was a clear indication that he hadn't seen either. She also knew that she had much to say to him, not that she would be all that comfortable talking to him about it. What she was, what she was capable of. But she knew with the return of her voice she could no longer keep the secrets that had burrowed deep down inside of her from her brother.
Hearing the click of the door as it was closed behind her Shannon settled down on the edge of her bed and started gently stroking multi colored fur of her cat as he circled, and then curled up on her lap as her blue eyes cast upward to watch her brother.
