Who: Mathias and his mom

Mathias lay on the couch in the pre-dawn light, a hand behind his head, his other arm across his chest as he stared up at the darkened ceiling. He'd been awake for getting on for an hour now, mulling things over in his head, not reaching any real conclusions, and he'd just about had enough. He shifted suddenly, twisting onto his side and removing his cellphone from his bag in one fluid movement. He didn't know where his parents were right now, but he had his mom's number on speed dial and she never missed his calls. Anyway, if they were in Europe, it'd be daytime by now over there.
