Who: Caleb and Dorian
Where: Phone calls
When: Mid-day
Finding a pay phone while trying to stay hidden was a pain in the ass, so eventually Dorian resorted to using a cell. It wasn't his own, but the guy he'd taken it from wasn't likely to miss it, and at the moment he didn't care. Someone else could deal with the international charges. His only issue was the limited battery life, but he was hoping it would hold for at least a couple of days. By then, maybe things would have settled down.

Who: Caleb and Dean
Where: on the phone
When: mid morning
Caleb shoved the packages containing the ID's he'd gotten for Dean beneath the front passenger's side seat, already hitting the speed dial for Dean. He leaned back in said seat, one foot down on the cement floor of the garage, and he was going through his bag to make sure he had what he figured he'd need. Not that that was a whole lot. His other foot bounced on it's own in impatience, as he shoved the keys in the ignition for Dean to find as he waited for an answer from his friend.
"Hiya," Dean said as he clicked connect, leaning slightly on the broom Sophie had given him, with orders to go start cleaning the glass up in the hall now that it seemed clear that the shadows were gone. "How're you? Okay, I hope?" he added, though he was still confident that Caleb would have been just fine.

Mathias rolled over in bed, reaching out blindly, still half asleep, for the ringing phone. He clicked connect as he held it to his ear. "Dorian?" he asked, wincing at the amount of static on the line. "You there, bro?" he asked again, louder. Caller ID had proclaimed it to be his brother. "Dorian?"
There was a crackle on the line and a voice just about came through, indistinct at best. "...th? ..uk. ....cond." Things went quiet before his brother returned. "...hear me now? I'm... stuck. Math?" Clearer this time.

She hadn't been in bed that long, aiming for maybe an hour or two before she had to get up for school. Leija had just solidly drifted into an uneasy dream about scars and blood and accusatory brown -- with just a bit of green -- stares, when something unidentifiable woke her up with a jolt. Her eyes opened and her heart squeezed tight in her chest. Her body jolted reflexively, as though it wanted to run like hell, but there was nowhere to go. But she didn't make a sound. Couldn't.

It was a while before Caleb said anything. Quite a while, actually. Hours. They'd gotten back to the shittiest motel room this side of the hemisphere, cleaned up, patched up, and generally hadn't said shit since. Caleb had rested, ribs still not pleased with him, though the sick feeling had abated a while ago. The pain he could deal with fine. It was really just his mind that was kind of begging to be cut out. That was what was giving him trouble. Everything else was details.

Caleb had been kind of at school. He was in the building, though he'd skipped English class, and was avoiding most everyone. When the bell rang, he was one of the first people out the door, because he didn't want to be caught by anyone. Or talk to Leija. So--leaving. When he looked up, however, he noticed his brother in his new car parked at the curb. He headed over, arching a brow in question at the elder Lockwood--though he didn't actually say anything.

Who: Mathias and Caleb
Where: Home
When: Afternoon
He was still getting used to it - having his own room - and it was obvious as Mathias stood at the door to what was formerly the dining room at his brother's house and surveyed the freshly painted room. The walls were a creamy colour that he hadn't picked, the floor hard wood. The was a bed, pushed up against one wall, a base sheet covering the mattress, a couple of pillows up top and a single blanket that he'd folded over the bottom end. That was habit for you - years of sleeping in cars and on couches. You folded up your bedding in the morning and put it out of the way. Just because he had a bed now didn't mean he could shift the instinct. There was nothing else really in the room. His bag and his few clothes were in the closet. There were more clothes than when he first got here, but not that many. He wasn't good at leaving things behind, so he'd trained himself not to pick up material possessions - you couldn't miss what you didn't have, after all. Again, another habit that was proving hard to shift. Mathias looked up as he heard the door bang shut and headed out into the living room.
Caleb had finally managed to wander home, though he'd been gone a long time. All of school for one. Afterwards. It was getting later, actually. But, he had far too much money on him and shit to do, so...home. He looked up as Math came in, and he kicked his shoes off, and dropped down to one knee, digging the information and cash out of his bag. "Here." he said. "Information and money for two identities. They needed another one for someone else."

Leija had walked around like a zombie for the entire day. She hadn't slept the night before, couldn't bring herself to eat anything, and felt like warmed-over death. Which was a word she didn't much want in her head today. A lot of the night had been spent also feeling like she was losing her mind in a different sense, until she'd covered up the mirror and drawn the curtains in her room. Brushing her teeth hadn't been any better. Still, she'd come to school. It had been to see Caleb, and she could admit that, even though the prospect scared the hell out of her, and her stomach had been in knots since about ... oh, the minute she left his house the night before. The fire alarm going off had had only minimally scratched the surface of her brain, and she'd numbly stood outside like everyone else, letting the cold sink in.

When the final bell rang, Leija wasn't part of the usual rush to get out the door. She was in a bathroom near the gym instead, standing in front of a sink and staring at her expression with a concerned look on her face. She'd been there for a little while, actually, bowing out of the final half of her last class. It had been bothering her in a vague sense all day, but when she was actually in front of a mirror, it got so very much worse. There was nothing different about her reflection. She'd been testing things; suddenly changing facial expressions, moving her hands, closing her eyes almost all the way. It reacted and responded the way it always had. If she hadn't spent the time in the Inbetween that she had, she probably would've convinced herself that it was just a weird bout of paranoia due to mental exhaustion or something. Instead? She was getting increasingly more freaked out by the feeling. But she couldn't stop staring.
When she actually left, there were a few stragglers still around, but most everybody was already gone. Ducking her head and trying to breathe around that weird feeling in her chest, Leija hurried out of the school building. Instead of heading for her own house as she usually did, she started in the direction of Caleb's at a quick walk. The feeling itself was fading the farther she got away from the school, but that didn't stop her from wanting to see him with a small, irrational sort of desperation. She walked faster; maybe she could catch up to him.

After opening her bag up at home, sitting, and then giving up on the pretense of actually doing any homework, Leija left a note for her dad and headed out again. She fingered the phone in her hoodie pocket and wondered if she should call first. Could she just drop in, now that she was 'the girlfriend'? She had the idea that that kind of meant different things to different people, and she was still in the process of figuring it out with Caleb. Not that it hadn't been an enjoyable process so far -- more than once she'd caught herself daydreaming in class about the Lockwood garage -- but still. As she walked, she decided he probably wouldn't care if she just showed up, and if he wasn't home then she could come up with a Plan B to occupy herself. She mounted the porch steps and knocked, stepping back and retucking her hands into her jacket.
Caleb was in the living room, sketching. Nothing in particular, really, he was just doing it to occupy his mind for a while. He had a few things on it, and he was attempting to sort through it all. When the knock on the door came, he dropped it off onto the floor and got up, going to answer it. His first thought was that he and his brother didn't get many visitors, and second that he hoped it wasn't Math's psycho-not-girlfriend. When he opened it on Leija, he smiled. Much better than anyone else. "Hey." he said, not at all appearing to mind her showing up without warning.

Dean sat slumped in his chair, art pad open in front of him, his attention focused on that as he drew, filling up the white space, though his mind wasn't really there, not really. His mind was all over the place - still, like it had been all damn weekend. Oz had been right, Oz had been so, so right - he'd completely underestimated what it would take to live in the same house as the girl he had a thing for, especially when she was a cuddly type. But he hadn't expected... He'd started flirting with her, he knew. He didn't mean to, but, occasionally he'd realise that he had been - and that wasn't fair to her, wasn't fair to either of them. He knew why she and Joshua had broken up - even if there was a snowball's chance in hell she might be vaguely interested, which he doubted, now was not the time. Now was the time she needed to get her head straight and find herself and everything that went with that, not to have her best friend, who she trusted, start... But, she'd crawled into bed with him and he couldn't get that image out of his mind. He scribbled out the last drawing he'd done of her and turned the page, welcoming the white blankness again.
Caleb wandered into class a tiny bit late. This was due to the fact that he'd gotten a note tacked to his front door, which had been--weirdly enough--from Lullaby. Who had a request for him. One that, considering his opinion on Dean's love life, he had been more than happy to do. Therefore--lateness. He figured he and Dean should probably get together sometime soon, where it was less public, just to catch up and re-assess, but for now...there was art class. He walked up and dropped down into the chair on the opposite side of the table, eyeing Dean critically. "You look...broody." he observed.

Peyton had stuck around for a while, eating pizza and talking. They'd thankfully gotten on some less serious subjects and had generally had a good time. It was weird to hang out with a girl, but Leija thought that maybe she could get used to it. Peyton seemed sweet enough and she felt genuinely better for getting some things off of her chest. But it had made her want to see Caleb, just like a not-necessarily-unpleasant curl in her stomach that had lingered and didn't go away even when she quit talking about him. After sitting around restlessly for about an hour after the other girl left, she'd poked her head in and told her dad she was going out.
Leija walked instead of flying, to work some energy off. Or something. But eventually she came up on the Lockwood's, her steps slowing as she came down the sidewalk. There was a light on and music coming out of the garage. It was familiar music, stuff she recognized from sorting through Caleb's mp3 player. So, confident that it wasn't Mathias in there, she walked up the driveway and peered into the garage.
Caleb happened to be in there, making an attempt at at least assessing the damage done to the car. Which really was equated to 'a lot'. He was figuring he needed to fix the passenger side doorframe as soon as he could, and was idly wondering if he took a sledgehammer to it, if that might help. Fucking vampires and their messing up a perfectly good vehicle. Currently, he was sitting back in a chair he'd snagged from the used-to-be-dining room and had been stored in the garage instead, feet propped up on the bumper, chair leaned back on it's back two legs as he read over one of the few books he'd gotten on car repair. He didn't notice her straight away, considering he was kind of absorbed in his reading, mentally trying to figure out just how long this was going to take, and if he could get it done by winter--which was just around the corner, according to the local types.

As agreed, Caleb headed out to the side lawn when lunchtime came around, to meet Dean. Talking during class wasn't the most adviseable thing to do, especially if you wanted to not talk around shit the entire time. And talking in code got tiring really fucking fast. Therefore, whatever. They'd talk where they'd be less likely to be overheard by the mundanes. He sat down, dropping his bookbag down and leaning back against it. He was tired, and wasn't necessarily that pleased about being back in school. Mostly because everyone seemed like walking wounded to him. Like they were all little shock-zombies. Or a lot of them were. It was just weird.
Dean wasn't far behind Caleb, having headed out straight from class and he joined his friend after a moment or two, glancing round to see if there was anyone else nearby - which, thankfully, there wasn't. School today seemed quieter then usual in any event, everyone fairly subdued, shellshocked, really. It wasn't really surprising. "Hey," Dean greeted, quietly, shifting his backpack to root around in it and pull out of bottle of water, taking a sip.

Caleb was in his room, on his bed, contemplating the ceiling. The window right next to his bed was open, letting the breeze over him, and there was a radio on faintly on his bedside table. He sort of wished he could crash for a bit, get some rest. He was tired enough to, that much he was more than well aware of. But he couldn't get his mind to shut the fuck up long enough to drift. Therefore, he was waiting. He knew Leija was going to be around sometime here, so...he was waiting for her to show. Once she did, he was probably going to talk to her about shit. After shit with Dean this morning, he had a lot on his mind, and he wanted to get her take on it. Her take as one of the only other people he knew that could possibly understand what he was going through.
Leija'd been paying attention to the news. She'd heard that another town had been hit away from Marquette. While she took that as a good -- well, okay, mixed at best -- sign, her dad wasn't quite convinced yet to bring them completely back. Though he had no problem with her going to check on people during the day. People really being Caleb, as she didn't really have plans to see anyone else. Seeing as how nobody else but Thom knew she could fly, so ... yeah. She dropped out of the sky and gave a flap or two so as not to land too hard in the backyard of the Lockwood house. Tucking her wings away and pulling the hoodie back on she'd had tied around her waist, she contemplated which door to knock on. Then heard the faint drift of music and followed it. Leija stuck her head into Caleb's window and looked at him on the bed. "... I totally just tried to think of something witty to say, and failed miserably," she announced, smiling faintly.
