Barflies

Who: Derek and Jovie
When: About 10ish
Where: Some dive bar
Derek had slept on a lumpy mattress last night, a LUMPY mattress, -him-! He was not happy. Although his day was perked up a little bit when he was able to arrange for a courier to pick up his package to be sent back to Chicago for treating and when his assistant had told him that he'd look into the house issue. But still, a lumpy mattress.

Who: Derek
When: 11pm
Where: Really bad motel
"Damn vampires running people out of town, no good hotels open, damn Manhattan, vampires follwing her, dead bodies in my room, run out of my hotel, damn damn damn." Derek grumbled as he transfered his things into his -new- hotel room. He unlocked the door and stepped inside only to want to flee again. God, maybe he was just spoiled but he'd never stayed in a dump like this before. He had the money, why should he?
An Unexpected Turn Of Events

Who: Manhattan and Derek
Where: US-41E, then The Landmark Inn
When: 10:15pm
Ok. That was one call down, one more left to go. Manhattan would have rather just dropped her little package off at the Inn for the man, but the blonde knew that would in no way sit well with one Derek Price. Which was why Manhattan was now scrounging around for the disposable mobile the man had given her. It was better to keep on decent terms with the man, cause doing work for him paid quite handsomely, then risking ending up on his bad side. Not that Manhattan was anywhere near afraid of the man. It was all in the money.
With it finally located by touch of fingers, the hunter's eyes having been kept focused, for the most part, on the road before her, Manhattan held the thing to her ear after getting a connection to go through.
Derek was actually at the hotel, he hadn't planned on it, but some business had come up and, well you don't always get your way- well not -every- time. When his phone rang Derek moved to answer it, but realized that it was his -other- phone that was ringing, that meant it could only be one person. "Price."
Checking In

Who: Manhattan and Derek
Where: On The Long Road Back To Marquette (Phone call)
When: Morning
Manhattan had been driving for more then a handful of hours before she fished the throw away cell from the glove compartment of the truck. Pride was curled up on the bench like seat in the back, his front right leg, wrapped and bandaged, hung lightly over the seats edge. The hunt had been successful, not that it went as well as the hunter had planned it out to go, but at least Pride was still breathing and all she had come away with were some serious bumps, bruises and a couple sore ribs. The prize gained in the end, the one that would be bringing her quite the large payment was tucked away nicely in a cooler in the back of the truck. And it was due to that little trophy that Manhattan was making the call. With one hand kept on the steering column, the other keyed in a number and then brought the phone to her ear to catch the first ring. Hopefully she wouldn't have to leave a message, cause really, she hated doing that.
The phone answered after three rings. "Price." The voice was quite stale and seemed distracted.
"You know you always did have great phone manners." Manhattan returned a bit amusedly when someone picked up and a familiar voice was heard from the other end.
"Manhattan." Derek sounded pleased to hear her voice. "You know you picked quite a time to leave town." Or, maybe not.
"Are you trying to say in that very subtle and unique way of yours that you miss me." Headlights flashed against the smooth pavement of road a head of her as the truck cruised down a long stretch of deserted road as her conversation with Derek progressed.
"I'm saying that things have gotten a bit exciting while you were gone." Of course he'd never admit to her that he probably could have used her as security last night, but he did alright on his own. Still need to look into getting a bit of an arsenol just in case.
Hit and Run

Who: Derek and Geo
Where: The streets
When: Sometime after ten
Geo was back out for the second time that night; this time in human form, still dressed in his odd cargo shorts though now he'd thrown on his duster, his sneakers and his Clash t-shirt. They were all loose, though - he wanted room to get them off fast if he ran into more people like he had seen earlier, wanted room to be able to change if he needed to.
But It's Just a Little Curse

Who: Derek and Dessicant
Where: Outside the Wooden Nickel
When: Evening
Derek was used to having to leave places to smoke so in habit he left the bar, which could only be classified as a ‘dive bar’ for a quick cigarette. He chuckled to himself thinking of what his stock holders would think to see him leaving such a place. It would probably some big scandal that would turn into him having a mythological drinking problem or even worse, a drug problem. Then his board of directors would insist that he check himself into a rehab center to deal with his ‘problems’, when in fact he hadn’t had a drink all night and had already tried most drugs and found them boring. Of course no one would even believe the -real- reason he was there. Gossip.
Derek leaned up against the side of the building and pulled his pack of reds from the pocket of his jeans and his lighter. He’d dressed down for his night out, not wanting to attract too much attention. However, those with a keen eye for fashion would know that even though he didn’t look like a rich business man, everything he wore was still a designer label. Pulling out a stick he set it caringly between his lips and lit it with the small flame from the lighter. Leaned his head back, letting out the stream of smoke from his first drag, watching the sky start to slowly let go of its tears again. It was almost as if it wasn’t crying, but sweating.
Finalizing the deal

Manhattan turned the truck off the street and into the parking lot of the downtown hotel, and though she hadn't a clue as to the make of the car he'd be driving, the hunter was able to find him simply by giving a glance into each car she passed in her slow circle around the lot.
