Who: Brian and Domino
Where: Domino's (former) house
When: Midday
Brian was feeling surprisingly not nervous about this whole thing, as he backed his truck up into Domino's driveway, for ease of loading. He had fully expected to be a mess of nerves, on edge and just plain wishing he'd never made this decision. And while he was on edge, a little-- every time he caught a glance of himself in the truck's mirrors, he saw that weird shadow that was "haunting" his reflection, and that was enough to put anyone on edge-- none of it had anything to do with Domino and moving Domino in. About that, he felt unexpectedly relaxed, like this was something he was supposed to be doing. Happy, even, looking forward to getting the guy settled in, and definitely looking forward to having him around more often. Pretty much every night, probably; even when one or another of them had been out with friends, they'd still be there when the other got home. Even his loss of "privacy" didn't really bother Brian much. How much real privacy had he had with Torziel around, anyway?
This was a big step. He knew it was. Domino knew it was. And Domino had agreed. So maybe there was a little hope for them, after all.
He got out of the truck, let the door slam shut behind him, and started for the front door.

Who: Domino and Manhattan
Where: Mya's Diner
When: A little after 9am
The diner was, maybe half filled to its capacity with customers when Manhattan arrived at a little past 9 that morning. And it was because of that that the hunter chose to seat herself. And she chose not just any available table in the place, nope Manhattan chose the booth she had sat at once before not all that long ago. At that time Domino had been her server, so Manhattan was chancing it that the teen would have this same section of the diner this morning. If not? Well then she would just promptly move herself to another table that would be in his serving area. After-all it wasn't like she had come all this way just for breakfast, which she had already had earlier that morning. A little bit of coffee and a bit of a chat with the dark haired one was what Manhattan was after.
Domino had only gotten there a little before the blond sat down and he was prompt to arrive at her side. She was, after all, his first table of the day. "Can I start y'off with a cuppa coffee?" He asked, pulling out the breakfast menu from his apron and placing it on the table with a fresh roll of silverware.

Who: Brian and Domino
Where: Brian's place
When: Earlyish morning
It was completely unsurprising now that Brian was awake well before Domino; as much as he hated it, he was getting used to waking up early. After being up too late and not sleeping well. The nightmares weren't even the culprit this time-- all he could remember was a restless sort of dream, something about being followed or pursued, but he didn't think his father or fire had figured into it for once. He actually lay in bed a while, listening to the wind outside and Domino's steady breathing beside him, before dragging himself out of bed and to the bathroom.

Who: Domino and Brian
When: Between 9:30 and 10pm
Where: Brian’s house
Dom had called while Brian was at work and left a voicemail letting him know he’d be stopping by. Things had taken a very interesting turn the previous night and he’d spent the day finding a storage facility and packing- after work of course. He pulled up to Brian’s house, having driven instead of hoofing it, and emerged from his car. He wore loose fitting jeans and a t-shirt that was one size too large for him but they were comfortable. Domino approached the door and knocked stretching a little as he waited for Brian to answer- or the door to ‘magically’ open on it’s own.

Who: Brian and Domino
Where: Brian's place
When: 9PM-ish
When Brian had gotten the voice mail from Domino saying he had to talk to him about something, his immediate response had been to call back-- and leave another message; he hoped the guy got it-- and say "come over after the diner closes and we'll talk". His immediate thought was that something was wrong, though he really didn't have any real reason to think that. After everything lately, though, his ability to be optimistic and expect positive things had been bumped to the backburner, leaving behind pessimism and a definite worst-case-scenario sort of mindset.
At least he managed to not spend all of his time at the diner worrying-- he kept busy, dealt with customers, got a head start on the inventory he desperately needed to get done soon. So it was just the drive home and the wait at the house where he worried and wondered what had happened to the incurious, laid-back man he was used to being. The one who didn't think about whether he had anything to drink left in the fridge first thing when he got home. At least he managed to resist going and getting any of that drink he knew was there. One would think that the hangover that morning would've been enough to convince him of that, but it was an effort, anyway. Instead, he flopped back onto the couch and turned on the tv while he waited for Domino. He was going to go to bed sober tonight, dammit. He was.

Who: Brian and Domino
Where: Domino's house
When: 8:30ish PM
It was a bit of a surprise, Brian showing up at Domino's place. He knew the other person who lived there was still out of town-- who wouldn't be, given all the vampire shit going on?-- so that much was safe; he wouldn't be disturbing anyone. He just hoped Domino was home, himself. It was after dark, so he'd like to think he would be, but Domino's sense of self-preservation could sometimes use a tweak.
Brian parked the truck on the street in front of the place, wanting a change of scenery from his own place-- he'd promised Marlowe he'd be back before midnight, though he didn't say whether he'd be alone-- and wanting to see the kid, both. It felt like it'd been a week since he'd seen Domino for more than a few minutes in passing, while at work or at shift change, though he was pretty sure it'd only been a few days. Regardless, it still seemed high time he stopped by. He'd even brought movies.

Who: Brian and Domino
Where: The house, where else?
When: Morning
When Brian had woken up the first time, he was still hovering that two inches above the bed, so he'd rolled over, buried his face in Domino's shoulder, and gone back to sleep. Now, a couple hours later, he woke up to actually feel blankets under him.
Oh, thank god. Stupid backlash. He wasn't teleporting for another month. Or throwing anybody into walls. Except maybe Domino, once his back healed up, but that was something completely different and probably wouldn't include willworking or backlash.
Even better, he wasn't nearly as cold, which meant he wasn't nearly as hot. That was great way to start off a birthday: backlash-free. Would've been better, though, if he hadn't immediately remembered it was his birthday. Bah.

Who: Brian and Dom
When: around 11pm
Where: Brian's place
Domino had given Brian a call, wasn't a long one, just one to see if it would be ok if he came over. When he was given the ok he slipped into a pair of loose fitting jeans that had quite a few holes down the legs (the only 'loose fitting' ones he had) and a sweatshirt. He the packed a change of clothes and the clothes that didn't belong to him into his backpack and headed out. Domino had spent most of the day in bed, except for one quick trip to the store, but now he wanted to see Brian- especially to see if he was ok after a day of work after a day of backlash.
Around 11pm Domino's old beater of a car pulled up to Brian's yard and the young man climbed out of the car with is backpack and a little brown paper handled sack. He approached the door and gave it a small knock.

Who: Domino and Olivia
Where: Mya's Diner
When: Early Morning
Domino decided to stop by the diner on his way home, he'd stayed the night at Brian's all night helping him through his backlash and slept curled up at the foot of his bed at a big kitty again. He'd gotten re-bandaged and borrowed a pair of Brian's sweats and loose t-shirt hoping to hide his bandaged back. Dom was hoping that Olivia would be in, he'd not managed to get a hold of her and with everything that happened over the weekend he wanted to make sure she was ok.
He entered the sparsely populated diner and walked up to the counter and sat, it felt good to sit after his long walk- stupid quicker on four legs then four wheels aftermath. Dom didn't see Olivia straight off but he thought he saw her in the back, he could wait until she wandered his way, he was patient especially since it felt really good to sit down.

Who: Marlowe, Domino, Torziel, and a little bit of Brian
Where: Brian's house
When: Mid-morning
There were two reasons Torziel was not in Brian's bedroom that night. First, that big, obnoxious cougar-boy. Second, the fact that Brian was backlashing and the demon-cat hadn't wanted to be in the same bed as a feverish, very wet willworker.
So, instead, he was out on the couch. With Marlowe. At least she was suitably fire-ish, even if she was lacking in brimstone. He'd settled across her stomach sometime during the night, and had been perfectly content to sleep there until she woke up or someone moved him.
Marlowe had a rough start falling a sleep, but once she was able to reach that stage, the elemental seemed to sleep peacefully for the few hours she was able to. As the day moved into the later hours of morning, Marlowe started stirring. The feeling of a slight weight on her stomach, which wasn't in any way comfortable due to her injuries, had the red head's eyes fluttering open to slits, and then snapping open when she was able to focus on the creature curled up on her belly. A cat? "Brian." Instinct had her calling out hoarsely for him while trying to nudge the damned thing off her. Surely the thing hadn't been laying on her stomach for any stretch of time, he had to have just jumped up and curled up there a short minute or so ago, cause she wasn't having any reaction to the thing yet, that didn't mean the stuffiness, and blotching of her skin was going to start real soon.
Torziel opened one golden eye at the prodding, but one of the nice things about being a very large-sized housecat was that he was difficult to move if he didn't want to move. All he did was shifted a little, stretch a little without actually getting up or moving much, and then settle down again with his big, furry paws across Marlowe's chest. The look he gave her read fairly clearly: I'm not going anywhere, girlie, so best be getting used to it.

Who: Brian and Domino
Where: Brian's house
When: Early morning
Brian wasn't really awake yet. It'd been a long night-- a long few days-- a long few weeks-- and his brain just didn't want to deal with any of it. So he wasn't awake yet.
Except he was so cold. And uncomfortable. Why was it so cold? It was hard to stay asleep when you were shivering and... and something else. Something that his brain really didn't want to acknowledge yet.
The night before, after getting Marlowe settled after her bath, on the couch, he'd talked Domino into sharing the bed. He didn't care if the guy was a cougar or not, or with him or not. He'd come to his aid when he'd needed it, he'd trusted him enough to help him get them home. Without his and Marlowe's belief that he could get them out of there, he probably couldn't have done it. So Brian wasn't about to let him sleep on the floor. He'd dried him off-- the wet was not coming on the bed-- and finally coaxed him into actually using the bed.
And sometime during the night he'd wound up at the foot of the bed, with Domino, cold and seeking that extra body heat, only that wasn't helping anymore. He was freezing, and it was getting harder to stay even half-asleep and not acknowledge that he was freezing.

Who: Brian, Domino, and Marlowe
Where: A house somewhere off of 41
When: Ten-ish
Rain drummed the roof of the log house, flickers of light blinked through the unshaded windows on the first floor. The place had been the home of Edyta and Drew Thompson, and their two teen age sons. The place was theirs no longer as a small handful of vamps had been able to coax their way into the house. With the family mutilated and fed from, their lifeless bodies left scattered on in the front yard, the vampires made the place their own. A place to torture, feed and kill their victims, with an occasional turning thrown in to keep their numbers up.

Domino didn't know where he was going at first, but knew he didn't want to go to an empty house, Fawn being still out of town. He also knew he probably didn't want to be outside as well what with the vamps and all so he went to the first place he thought of- Sasha's. After all he'd never been to Olivia's or Marlowed and he'd have been an idiot to go to Myas, so Sasha it was.

Sasha normally didn't sleep in, to be honest. He wasn't a crack of dawn kind of guy, but he'd get up in plenty of time to get some food, head to work a bit early, that sort of thing. But after a big fight in which he did lose a fair amount of blood, he had crashed out and stayed out a bit longer than expected. He'd forgotten to turn on his alarm, and slept soundly until he heard someone talking in his apartment, and drowsily lifted his head to look around. "Mmmhfff?"

On the list of people to call and make sure they were all right, Domino was pretty high on it. Not the first, that honor went to Olivia because she hadn't shown up to work that morning-- and good god, had that scared the shit out of him-- but definitely high. The diner was quiet, with not many people wanting to be out and about, so he certainly had plenty of time.
Calling on his cell-- he always made sure he had perfect reception wherever he went; it was one of the perks of being a willworker-- he tried Domino's home phone first. That gave him nothing, but that didn't mean anything. It didn't mean anything. Domino could be out somewhere getting groceries. He could be too deeply asleep to hear the phone. He could just not want to answer it without caller ID.
So, forcing himself not to panic, Brian called his cell phone.

Who: Brian and Domino
Where: Brian's place
When: Late evening
Brian wasn't someone who really liked being trapped in the house all day. In fact, he really didn't like it, especially when his only company was a bad-tempered demon-cat. By the time night fell-- and the rain was still coming, albeit less fiercely so he wasn't fighting the urge to hide under the bed or a blanket just from the sound of it on the roof-- he was going stir-crazy. And he was bored. And he was lonely, damn it all.
That was why he'd called Domino. Really, it was. Called and hung up again, because he knew the guy was still at work, and would be for a little while longer, and he couldn't risk holding a conversation with the man while he was at the diner. Maybe he'd take the hint, though, from the name and number on his missed call and come over after work.
Or so he was hoping, as he paced aimlessly around the house. Music was playing in the front room-- country, and to hell with what Domino might think of him for liking Clint Black-- but it didn't really do much to make him feel any less restless. It did, at least, drown out the quieter sound of the rain.

Sometimes, being drunk made you stupid. Instead of going to bed, like he really ought to be doing, Brian was fishing out Domino's note with the number written on it from where he'd stashed it in his bedside table drawer and dialing. It was the middle of the night, and he was pretty damn sure the boy would be in bed... but there he was, listening to the phone ring and laying back on his bed, eyes shut but brain nowhere near ready to turn off. Not until he heard from Domino, half-asleep or not.
Dom was far from asleep, this kitties sleeping schedule was anything if normal anymore. Must have been the last full moon, or anticipation of a new one, or the fact that he was just plain insane. Whatever the reason he’d gotten home from work this evening, slept for a little while and then woken up fully refreshed. Currently he was laying in the backyard on the grass, his hands behind his head as he watched the stars. He was imagining he was in the mountains back home watching the stars there like he’d done growing up. *zzzzzz* Dom furrowed his brow slightly. *zzzzz* His pocket was vibrating, for a moment he was tempted to let it be, but he changed him mind quickly and pulled it out. “’ello.” He said as he put the cell to his ear.

Sleep was good, very good after Domino's extended day(s). He had no idea what time it was when he finally stirred, momentarily forgetting the bed he was in, or the man who was laying beside him. Then it came back to him; the shower, the not-so-showerlike stuff, the toweling off, and the collapsing into bed. Domino smiled, pleased that his passing out so quickly afterward in Brian's arms hadn't fuzzied the memory any. Slowly Domino slid from his side to his back so he could see if Brian was still asleep or not.

All things considered, it'd been a pretty nice night, despite the way things'd started. The day could've used some improvement, but the night hadn't been too shabby. Now Brian was sprawled on his couch, a little buzzed from a few beers after his trip down to the carnival's last day that afternoon. And the last of the wine coolers, actually. One of these days he needed to stop getting even a little drunk before bed; it was starting to become a habit, and that was never a good thing when it came to alcohol.

Domino was lucky that Fawn was out of town, it left the place open for him to actually bring Brian over. He was very happy that the weather had been behaving all day, it allowed him to actually do this right. As the time clicked away he actually got a little nervous (which was so unlike him), but hopefully today, he'd make an impression that was exactly that- unlike him. He made sure everything was ok before he headed into the shower to wash up quick and get ready.
