It wasn't until Ash was positive that the vampires had moved on that he went to see Eury. He'd called her a couple of times, just to check in, but hadn't gone over there for various reasons. She was potentially distracting, for one. No punches needed to be pulled with those bastards, and he needed his full mind in the right place. Plus, if they got him? Possibly less pain for her. But once he was sure the threat had passed, he wanted to see her. So it was late morning when he dragged his carcass out of bed, checked his bandages, and took the walk down to her shop. He flicked a cigarette away as he arrived and exhaled, trying the door. They'd broken out her windows, motherfuckers.

Eury was up early as well, mostly trying to get an estimate for her windows, and making sure nothing had been taken from her shop. Though really, it seemed to have been overlooked somewhat due to the fact that vampires really couldn't use old tea sets and or brass spoons. When she saw a shadow on the other side of the glass doors, through the small entryway, she at first felt a flash of anxiety--which was quickly replaced when she saw that it was Ash. Dropping her clip board down onto the nearest shelf, she ran over and opened up the door directly to her shop, then flipped the lock on the door to the street. She yanked it open, then grabbed one of his arms to pull him into a tight hug.

He sat outside of her shop for probably close to twenty minutes, smoking a cigarette and staring at the door. He was torn between getting out of the car and going inside, or turning on the engine and taking off. He wasn't sure exactly where things stood between them - it was like they had some kind of bipolar relationship. One minute they were laughing, the next they were fighting. Of course, he had used the word relationship, which prompted a quick breath and shake of his head. No need to use that word, per se. But between his conversation with Dorian, and then Shannon...he didn't know what else to do but to get out of the car.

And so he did, locking it behind him before wandering casually up to her shop. It annoyed him, how he was generally fairly confident in situations like these. But that was Eury - no other person made him feel so unsure about himself as she did. It was unsettling, and yet he was still there to see her. His jacket sleeve covered the bandages wrapped around his wrist and unless they were getting naked - which he wasn't all opposed to - she wasn't going to see the stitches across his abdomen. The bruise on his cheek was fading, so he wasn't overly concerned with it. She knew what he did for a living - she could draw her own conclusions.

He didn't call her name this time, as he usually did. Instead he walked into her shop, eyes kept open for her as he wandered around the shop. He hoped she was alone. If she was with anyone, VNS or just a customer, Aiden would just have to escort them out.

It had been a while since Anton had wandered around this part of town. He’d left the house to peek around where the tents were being set up for the carnival—out of part curiosity, part romantic hope that he would recognize something from his own days in his troupe—and now he had nothing better to do than to go back and finish repairs and tackle paperwork and deal with griping clients. Business had been all but exciting this morning; what a lure that was. What a joy. What a thrill. He could hardly stand it.

conversations that shouldn't be had

Eury had been debating calling Aiden all day. Really, since she'd woken up surprisingly without a hangover, even if she expected one, and she'd been on and off thinking about Ash, and Aiden both as she worked. Her day flew by with her mind occupied as much as it was, and afterwards she'd gone upstairs to just sort of chill out, and think to herself.

This gave her a lot of time to ponder over everything. Which really didn't give her any conclusions on anything, really, but did make her wonder where Aiden had fucked off to. She kept debating if she was even welcome to call, and thought that maybe with the way their last conversation had ended, even if it was kinda all over, and she'd been meaning to give him space for him to decide if he wanted to try things or not with his whole view of the world problem...in the end she dialed anyhow.

She laid on the couch, staring up at the ceiling as she watched the candle light flicker around. She was having a relaxing, pampering herself night and therefore had lit a bunch of nice smelling candles, taken a long bath, and was now a relaxed, boneless heap on the sofa curled up with a soft blanket just out of the drier. Perfect. Now, hopefully her conversation with Aiden wouldn't bring her back down again. It was always a gamble with him.

Aiden still had quite a few hours left on his drive. It was a long one, regardless, but with a few stops and hitting a couple bouts of traffic, it'd put him behind more than he'd have liked. He liked it best when the sun set, and the roads began to clear. When it was just he, and his car, and a long dark road ahead with nothing on his mind other than what sonofabitch he was going to rid the world of next.

Gifting

Who: Eury and Ash
When: late afternoon
Where: Eury's place

Ash was supposed to wait until he closed down the shop before he wandered over to see the girl. Eury. Dread-locked and tattooed and with an eye condition and antiques. He technically did wait for a while, puttering around and wasting time until around four o'clock, when he couldn't take it anymore. It wasn't like he had anything huge to do anyway, it was all just shit work. So he closed the bay doors, locked up, and tromped upstairs to take a shower. After a brief pop-off a the liquor store, he was set with a six pack of something that most everybody liked to drink, and a bottle of burbon. If she didn't approve of either, he could always go back out, after all. Ash found Stone Eye Antiques again with no problem, and stubbed his smoke out on the side of the building with his free hand before he pushed on in through the door.

Eury happened to still be in the shop proper, though she hadn't had any customers in ages. It was that time of the afternoon where everyone was fucked off at work or home. So, she was having a lazy sort of afternoon, rearranging things in the shop on the shelves. When she heard the bell, she looked over, then beamed as she saw who it was. Bouncing(carefully) on over to the glass door, she opened it up, seeing him there in the small entry way that lead to both her shop and the stairwell up to her apartment. "Lookie who we have here!" she said brightly, clearly pleased. "Ooh, do you come bearing gifts?"

Who: Aiden and Eury
Where: out
When: Afternoon

Eury had claimed she would be working today. Had told Aiden to come by whenever and so he did, closer to two, which really wasn't lunchtime, but he hoped she'd wait on eating until he saw her, at least. It had taken him awhile to actually get out of bed and find the courage to drive over. He'd almost bailed - twice, but he knew he couldn't. Not with something this important.

He pulled up in front of the shop, got out and threw his cigarette away before walking inside. Strange, that the last few times he'd been in the shop it had been to fuck her, or fight with her. He had no plans to do either this time around. Honestly, this time he just wanted to talk. He'd woken up that morning, convinced that he'd been dreaming the whole encounter the night before. That she was a Gorgon. Something that didn't exist to so many people. People who believed in everything else. She was claiming to be a myth. An untruth. But he knew she was real. It was impossible to ignore it now that it was in his face. She was a Gorgon, and Dorian was half demon and...his whole world seemed like it was tilted into chaos. He killed people like them for money. He viewed people like them as nothing but things. Creatures. Less than human. Jesus. He still wasn't sure he was dealing with it very well. It was like getting punched in the gut twice. Or shot in the gut. That was much more painful. Still, he had questions. He wanted to at least see if he could do this without letting the night before get to him. It felt necessary to talk this out. And then he'd call Dorian later. He needed to sort things out, deal with them. And then decide what to do. Aiden walked through the store looking for her, keys to his car dangling off his fingers. "Eury?"

It had been a long day, and Eury was sitting in her living room, looking down at one of the photographs she'd kept from her sweep around town to help clear them. Her sunglasses sat on the coffee table next to it, and she couldn't look away. It was like a car accident. She didn't want to see it, in fact, she knew it by heart by now, with as many pictures as had been plastered all over the place, but that's where her eyes were. Especially on the warning. Closing her eyes for a moment, she reached up to rub them with one hand, squeezing the bridge of her nose, a dull headache throbbing at the back of her head. It felt like someone had come up behind her and clocked her with a baseball bat. After a few long minutes of sitting there in silence, she grabbed up her phone and had dialed before she really made the decision to call Aiden. It was only when she heard the tones in her ear that she wondered if she shouldn't have just gone, taken a bath, and read for a while before going to bed instead of phoning the hunter. And yet she didn't hang up.

Digging his phone out of his pocket, Aiden flipped it open, recognized the number and answered it before he even thought that maybe he ought to just let it to go voicemail. There was a part of him that felt he should answer it whenever she called, just in case it was an emergency, or something, even though he knew there was probably a slim chance of that. You just never knew so why chance it? "Hey." Aiden tapped his finger against the side of his beer bottle. "Everything okay?"

Eury had gotten up early to open up the shop for a little while, in hopes that she was going to get some work done, but something plastered to the door of her shop caught her attention first. After she saw the photograph, she gasped, and rushed outside, to see if she could see who had put it there. Unfortunately, they were gone, but she noted immediately that they were everywhere. Oh no... she thought with a sinking feeling, and she started up the street to start tearing them down, after a quick phonecall to the cop shop to tell them what she was seeing. And of course, someone had already reported it, but she knew human instinct was to leave shit to someone else. And so. She made the call, and started heading up Washington Street to tear pictures down, wondering just how far spread they were.

As she tore another one down, she sighed, trying to block the image from her mind though she was sure it was burned in permanently by now. "...what is wrong with people?" she murmured.

After his visit to the bookstore, which was suitably embarrassing, Keats didn't really want to go home. He wasn't tired. He wasn't really hungry either, so he headed for the park. It was usually very quiet this time of night, and the weather felt unbelievably good. Perfect for stretching out in the grass and reading a little, or just star-gazing. He readjusted the strap of his messenger bag and followed his feet in that direction, a small smile on his face.

Eury picked up the phone after she got back from her infiltration of the police department. Which really had amounted to her sweet talking one of the cops on duty and getting herself a date out of the deal. Either way she did have the pertinent information, and she dialed Dorian's number and listened to the ringing in her ear.

Dorian hadn't realized he'd been waiting by the phone till he practically jumped on it when it rang. There weren't many people that called, but any one of them he'd been eager to talk to. "Hello, this is Dorian," he said, wondering who'd gotten back to him first. Either Eury or his brother was acceptable, seeing as how the subject matter was somewhat similar.

"Hey hon!" Eury said brightly, laughing a little. "Were you waiting by the phone?" she asked. Then went on before he could answer. "I've got your information! Me and my wicked james bond skills have pulled through!"

Dorian didn't head straight to the bookshop like he normally would. Instead, he went to the antique shop a few doors down from his, deciding that his customers could wait. No one came to buy that sort of book that early in the morning anyways. He probably wouldn't see a soul in the shop till around eleven. So he didn't even stop by, just leaving the closed sign up on the door of Nevermore as he headed into Stone Eye Antiquities. "Eury?" he called out, looking around the store as he walked in. She always seemed to be hiding whenever he arrived...
