For morning-grocery-getting scene
street fight on lakeshore
Submitted by 180degrees on Thu, 06/12/2008 - 06:53.
Who: Geo, Sammy, Melia, Caleb, Mathias, Ash, and Linn
Where: Out near the beach
When: Night
Mathias was strolling, actually strolling, a slight smile on his face, looking completely relaxed. He was also apparently alone, just him, walking along one of the streets near to the edge of the lake. It was a nice night for a stroll, after all - or, well, it would be if the town wasn't, say, overrun with blood thirsty, marauding vampires. But why let a little fact like that spoil one's evening.
And If the Dam Breaks Open

Who: Sammy, Linn and Geo.
Where: The Williams' house, then the streets
When: Sometime after eight, but before the gunshots in the park.
Sammy snagged an Oreo off the plate he had balanced on top of the monitor, steadying it with one hand as he dropped back into the spinny-chair of dOOm in front of the desk. The house felt weird all dark and without his parents inside. At least they weren't going to have to be here long. Just until close to one, when he and Geo'd be leaving to catch the bus. That wasn't long to wait, right...?
Salt-Water Soup
Submitted by tolman_sweet_apple on Tue, 05/06/2008 - 13:56.Who: Sammy and Linn
Where: MSHS lunch room
When: Lunch hour
Soup. It was perfect for the day, which was rainy and just...really, really unpleasant. Weather-wise and mood wise. Sammy stared down into the bowl he'd picked up from the lunch-line, just...staring into it, really. He hadn't taken a single spoonful, he just let the steam rise up, warming his face. The sounds in Sammy's ears were muffled and he was half-asleep in his seat, all kinds of miserable. News of more deaths on top of his dreams on top of...well, everything...Sammy just wasn't happy. He rubbed at his eyes - they felt like they were burning.
Linn made his way through the lunchroom, clutching his paper sack lunch in one hand. It had been kinda a crappy day for him. More bad news about freaky murders, plus he hadn't done very well on his science homework last night and was going to have to go back to Mrs. Wu's class after school for some help. Super suck. Oh well. Nothing a peanut butter sandwhich and a ho-ho -- hold on there. Was that Sammy Williams? He hadn't been in science class... Dang, he looked mad-sick. Linn ducked through the crowded noisy room until he got to Sammy's table. "Hey..." Without waiting for an invitation he plopped down next to the other guy.

Who: Sammy and Linn
Where: MSHS; Science lab
When: Second period
Sammy looked warily at the counter in front of him and the different chemicals and equipment that lined the metal top. The very sight of them was displeasing to him as he stared discontentedly at the burners and beakers and different solutions that were all supposed to do something to make something else and, oh, why was he in this class? He wanted to melt into the floor or shift into a bird and make his escape but, really, it wasn't possible and so he could only sit tiredly in terror as the teacher called out who was paired with him in this lab.
Bubble-Headed Bleach Blonde...
Submitted by tolman_sweet_apple on Tue, 04/22/2008 - 01:58.Who: Geo and Linn
Where: Seven-Eleven
When: Mid-Evening
Geo had left Fenton's with a sick feeling in his stomach. Something was happening, and whatever it was? It wasn't normal, at all. The tall boy's shoulders were slumped, one hand shoved deep in his now-empty pockets, the other clenched around the grocery sack of old, beat up record covers. He'd still bought those - but the CD had stayed in Fenton's. He hadn't had the guts to pick it back up and take it back out with him, not after dealing with that David guy. Not even with this weird...lying jag he seemed to be stuck in.
He was almost scared to go home; afraid he'd wind up telling Fred or Laverne something as obviously wrong as claiming his name was Sammy...almost equally afraid that he'd tell them something else, and they'd believe it. And so, he was still wandering, despite the chill in the air. The weather kept threatening to rain, but the thick tan wool of his duster was barring the ominous damp from reaching his skin.
Bumpin Around
Submitted by tolman_sweet_apple on Tue, 04/22/2008 - 01:11.Who: Stacey and Linn
When: Tuesday, just after school
Where: The school grounds, outside
Linn walked out of the school building, feeling just a tad lighter. Two days down, only three to go until the weekend. Couldn't blame a guy for smiling for that reason. He munched on a crisp green apple as he walked against the flow of most of the students, heading for the school weight room. An hour or so lifting weights, then another hour or so prowling about town... it sounded like a good afternoon to him. He turned his head back over his shoulder as he casually walked, thinking he heard someone call him, only to instead bump into someone that he hadn't seen coming his way.
Stacey was beginning to wonder if she picked up a curse along the way, because this habit of running into people began since she moved here. Normally this could be a good thing if it wasn't for the fact that she was -literally- running into people. Stacey let out a grunt as she ran into the big guy and hit the floor with a thud, dropping her bag yet again.
Engineered Collisions
Submitted by tolman_sweet_apple on Sat, 04/19/2008 - 21:00.Who: Dessicant and Linn
When: Tuesday, early evening
Where: Just inside the carnival grounds.
Bundled up in his dark blue hoodie, his hands stuffed deep in the pockets, Linn felt pretty cozy. The outside air, after all, was pretty cold. But he could swear he smelled hot chocolate, and that was tempting him something awful, even if sugar was a bad idea because of wrestling. Plus, without his usual entourage of siblings with him, he could get something tasty without having to buy it for the rest of them, too. Definitely a good thing. He wandered to the edge of the carnival grounds, looking for a booth that might be selling something warm and creamy, and most importantly of all, sweet.
The blessing on the carnival grounds-- and high school, and college; who the hell had time and energy for such strong blessings on three damn places?-- was fading. Slowly but surely. Dessicant was prowling around the edges of it, not tempting fate by actually encroaching on it, but testing it, pacing the edges of it like a cat stalking the edges of the water as it slowly receded.
