Wound That Doesn't Heal

Bleed At You

Who: Marek and Sammy
When: A little after six p.m.
Where: The house

Back in the "old days" - days which weren't even a month gone - Sammy had listened to his music loud. The only worries had been that the neighbors might hear it, and the only measures his parents - also not even a month gone - had taken to prevent this scenario from happening had been to come into his room and turn the volume down.

Not Quite The Witching Hour (But Close)

Paneled

Who: John and Marek
When: around dusk
Where: the woods near John's house

John had been a bit more reclusive than usual lately. It was tough to turn over a whole new leaf and suddenly be social, try as he did with his new life in Marquette. That whole vampire situation had caused him to turn inward, and become evermore self-dependent. And so was his mood this evening as he wandered in the woods, looking for interesting bits of wood he might whittle down and --ironically-- add to the chess set he was working on.

Into The Woods

Hates You

Who: Marek
When: Shortly after dusk
Where: The woods near John-the-Gorgon's house.

The good thing about the woods, Marek decided as he headed deeper into them, was that not only were there no mirrors, and no crowds, but there was no one smoking marijuana, either. The man earlier hadn't been annoying by himself at all, aside from his smoking habit, and that had been enough. By the time he had left, his annoyance had been high (haha), though he thought he'd done remarkably well in not letting it show. Remarkably well. Yes.

Seeking Sammy

Corwin-Angry-HA

Who: Corwin, Sammy, and Marek
Where: Marek's house
When: After dark

After taking Ivan home-- he couldn't well let the guy run home in the rain, after dark, now could he?-- Corwin had a few... errands to run. He chugged along in the van towards from the bank to the rounds of friends' houses-- with the exception of John's house; he couldn't just drive by there and be subtle about it, after all-- to the last house on his list, Sammy and Geo's current home. The home of that-- madman, or whatever he was. With the fangs and the blood and the floodlights.

He parked across the street and sat there for a good ten minutes before he finally got up the nerve to get out and cross the street to head up the front walk. Sammy hadn't emailed him back for three days now, and he was getting worried. He knew better than to try and sneak around like he usually would; he didn't want floodlights trained on him! But that meant going to the door... which meant maybe dealing with that-- wannabe vampire, or whatever he was.

Pets (Cats) Not Allowed

Hostile

Who: Corwin and Marek
Where: Outside Marek's house
When: Late

The hardest part about bringing cats over to the place Sammy and Geo were staying was, actually, deciding which cats it would be. Davey would never do, being highly distractable and very loud, and Georgia was far too old, for all she was very patient. The fact that she was white was probably a point not in her favor. He refused to part with JP just yet, so that was out of the question, and River was actually technically his "Olivia cat", even if she wasn't a watchcat exactly. That left... Horus. And locals.

Making Plans

bw jacket up fly

Who: Joshua and Marek
When: afternoon
Where: NMU's campus

"No, ma, I think we can manage it," Joshua said as he walked out of the building, phone tucked between his head and his shoulder, as his hands were full of glossy pamphlets and papers. "The lady said a student visa isn't too hard to get, and she gave me some stuff about scholarships, so we might not have to ... well, yeah, I know you would, but if I can ..." He trailed off as she just talked over him, and grinned a bit.

The night before had been full of lots of thinking. And talking to himself, which was how he thought things through the best. Talking to Claire about future plans and jobs and the like had put sort of a spotlight on how useless he was being. He needed to do something with his life, whether Lu was in it or not. And unless he was going to -- clumsily -- stock groceries for the rest of his life, that involved going on with his school-plan.

"No, I don't have a major yet, that's not for a wh-- aw fuck," he cut himself off as a gust of wind caught the papers in his hand and blew them completely away across the grass. "I gotta call you back, ma, loveyoubye!" He hung up and pocketed the phone as he hurried to try and catch all of it.

Normal, Vanilla-y Couple (right.)

Curious

Who: Helen and Marek
Where: A restaurant in Negaunee
When: 6:00 PM

University classes were done for the week - at least for Marek - by four o'clock in the afternoon. He'd made it home before Helen and after a quick perusal of the fridge had come to the conclusion that tonight would be a good night to go out to eat, rather than eating in. Some of the meat in the fridge was, after all, rather questionable. It hadn't taken long for him to get back into the car and pick Helen up as she got out of work. A couple of minutes after that they had both come to the conclusion that neither of them wanted to eat at Mya's Diner, and minutes after that they were on the road to Negaunee.

None Too Pleased

jovie08

Who: Jovie & Marek
When: Early evening
Where: Kalos Jewelry/West Washington Street

Stupid. Smelly. Undead motherfuckers. Jovie fumed as she swept the broken glass and splinters of wood from the floor of her shop into a large pile. Both large windows looking out into the street were shattered still. The door was off the hinges, given the company she'd called to come bring a new door had yet to arrive. Two nights of relative peace and quiet in Marquette and her store seemed like a never ending mess. She was grumbling and sweeping the glass toward the front door with the other trash she'd gathered. Broken shelves, broken display cases. Her computer was still not fixed, but seeing as how Nerd Genius was the only one capable of helping, she resisted going to his apartment that morning and pounding on his door. She was getting tired of the thoughts of the oblivious and annoying who passed by. It hadn't been overzealous teenagers, or gangs on drugs. It had been vampires and if the majority of people in Marquette had no clue, they deserved to get their houses broken into or burned down. Not her.

Jovie reached up to brush her palm over her damp forehead before bending down to pick up one of the bigger pieces of glass stuck in the hinge of her shop's front door. She was momentarily distracted by the thoughts of someone coming down the sidewalk, and she grabbed the edge of the glass the wrong way. It sliced easily through her middle finger and she gasped, standing abruptly to drop her broom and grab her hand as blood began to seep and flow easily down her finger to her palm. Cursing loudly, she kicked the broken door with her shoe and thought twice about shoving her finger in her mouth. She was honestly beginning to hate this town.
