Who: Brian and Mya
Where: On the phone
When: 8:30ish in the evening
By the time work had come around, Brian had been under control and no longer glowing-- thank god, because if he'd had to talk to Ash while still in a state there would've been trouble. By the time he got off work, he'd been no longer even the slightest bit angry, and just plain confused with a heavy dose of worry. Hunt had acted strange. He wasn't the type to be cruel, needlessly or even needfully, and he wasn't the type to pretend he didn't understand or remember something... so there had to be some reason for it. And now that he wasn't angry, short circuiting, or right in Hunt's face, he could recognize that.
And he needed to talk to someone about it. The natural choice, of course, was Mya. He needed to call her, anyway. Check up on things. See if she'd heard from Olivia. Remind her to stay home tomorrow, dammit.

Who: Brian and Mya
Where: The diner
When: Shift change
Having the morning off to sleep in and relax would've been much more enjoyable if Brian had actually wound up getting any extra sleep. Or even if he'd just had Domino over and hadn't gotten extra sleep for a good reason. But no. When he came in to the diner for a couple hours of afternoon shift, even though he'd had a nap in the hopes of making up for the stupidly early morning, he was yawning and feeling vaguely strung out, even though he really had no reason to be. Stupid fucking dreams.

Who: Olivia and Mya
Where: The diner
When: Early morning
Olivia was apprehensive to go to the diner, but felt like it was necessary. She couldn't just stop showing up for shifts, even though she had yesterday and today. She didn't know if Brian would have talked to Mya about it or not. But she couldn't put it off. Mya'd given her a job when she desperately needed one, so she at least deserved notice and an explanation. Tense, Olivia walked into the diner and headed directly for Mya's office, not bothering to look around at the staff, or the kitchen. If Brian was there, she'd probably bolt so she wanted to avoid seeing him if possible. She knocked quickly on Mya's door, deciding to give it five seconds before she turned and ran out.
Mya had given Brian the morning off, letting him soak up a bit of extra birthday, she had paperwork she'd been slacking on anyhow. She was sitting behind her desk, her hair pulled back and held up precariously with a pencil when the door knocked. "It's open." She said, which was obvious because the door didn't even lock.

Where: Mya’s Diner
Mya was bustling around, the last of the customers had just left and she was helping by cleaning off the last of the two tables and bringing the dishes into the back. “Can someone make sure to grab the cake from the fridge and get it into my office before Brian gets here?” She asked, as she slipped into the back by to drop off the dishes. “And get the party platters on the counter!” The end of the shift had been a little busier than expected but she had a good team (and more than normal as a few extra employees stopped in to help set up for Brian- some without having to be asked). Mya tucked a bit of loose hair behind her ear and quickly got out of the way of the platters of food that were zipping by her.
There were streamers put up around the counter and balloons along the booths, the cake was hidden until later but the platters of hour’d’ouvres were out. There were crackers and cheese, chips and dip, tortilla rolls with cream cheese and turkey, fruit with a marshmallow dip, mini cucumber and avocado sandwiches, bruchetta strips and a bacon, cheese and artichoke dip with toast points. Mya was good at cooking meals, but she was even better at snack food and since there wouldn’t be an actual meal served there were lots of snacks.

Corwin,
I know I've not emailed you in a while however with everything that happened last night I feel that you're the only person I know who might know anything. Please let me know if you know anything about the group that is terrorizing our city.
Maybe we can get together when things quiet down and you can tell me about your hunt for information on the cats have been going.

When Mya got home she’d fallen right asleep, crashed was more like it. She didn’t even change out of her work clothes. She slept most of the afternoon and would have probably stayed asleep if it hadn’t been for the sirens. Stirring Mya woke and walked outside to see if she could see where the noise was coming from. They seemed a bit distant so not directly in her neighborhood. With a furrow of her brow she went back inside and turned on the news.
By the time the remote hit the floor she was already dialing the diner. Fire was bad, and it wasn’t even a Monday.

Domino was wrapped around Brian's form, the blankets chaotically splayed across their bodies. His head rested against the older man's shoulder and for a moment the world seemed to not exist. This was Domino's favorite *ring* time. The feeling of bliss right at that moment was something that he *ring* treasured. Granted the stuff that *ring* happened before was nothing to shake a stick at, but *ring* nothing compared to the moments after. *ring* What the hell?

Who: Marlowe, Brian, and Mya
Where: Mya's Diner
When: 1:30pm
Marlowe parked the impala in the open spot next to the monster white truck that had seen better days, and walked the short path to the entrance of the diner. Her normal work day at the little eatery didn't start til 4:30, but the red head had managed to pick up a couple extra hours in covering part of Steffi's shift. The other girl had a doctor's appointment that couldn't be missed, and Marlowe had been more then willing to help out for the mere fact that she could use the extra cash a couple extra hours of work would bring in, not to mention the cash gained in tip she'd be able to pick up as well.
With one good tug Marlowe had the diner's door open and stepped through into the establishment. Greetings and a smile were dished out to the few regulars Marlowe knew on a first name basis as she found her way toward the back of the diner. There was a time clock punch, and Marlowe needed to get settled in before taking to the main floor of the diner set to work the long stretch of hours ahead of her.

Everything was cleaned, stocked and put away. The deposit was done and all the tips doled out for the night. The place was empty. All the closers were waiting in the parking lot for Mya to leave and lock up. Bless them, they were patient. She stood at the counter adding the last piece of tape to the corner of the paper that lay atop the metal surface. This is a good idea. She didn’t find herself very convincing at this very moment.
A Little Worry

Who: Brian and Mya
Where: The diner
When: A little after 8AM
Brian showed up a couple minutes late for his shift at eight, after cursing himself sleepily the whole way for being up so late the night before, for not wanting to get out of bed, for staying the night because it was so late and thus requiring him to deal with Domino at an ungodly hour of the morning when he couldn't resist.... But there was still a bit of the vague, satisfied air of a man who'd gotten laid recently, and had, at the very least, enjoyed it. Though at least he didn't smell like it. Showers were wonderful things. Especially when they had Domino in them, too.
Not thinking about that while at work, dammit. Think about being a lecherous old man who was going straight to hell for fucking an eighteen-year-old man, instead. Yeah, that'd work. Really.

If there was anything better than getting off his shift after eight hours of way-too-early and slightly-overworked with the lack of Olivia, it was seeing Mya pulling into the parking lot at the end of said eight hours. Brian knew she was coming, of course, since she was taking over for him as manager-on-duty for a busy shift, but he still felt like a chance to see her was a chance to see her. He hadn't really done so much, since getting back, except in passing. Or that's what it felt like.

Mya finished her shift at the diner and instead of going straight home decided to go on a walk through the park. She worried slightly about the staff not having her or Brian around tonight, but they knew what to do and she always worried. They had both their numbers in case anything happened anyhow so she knew in her heart all would be ok.

The black reciever clicked into place, ending a most upseting phone call. Mya sat staring at the big black numbered buttons as names flew through her head. Eventually she came to the conclusion that she only had two choices, change business hours to close earlier (after all the diner never did to terribly well at night, she kept it open only for those who might need a coffee, meal or conversation in the dead of night. Most happened to be travelers taking a pit stop.) or hire more staff who could work nights. The later was probably going to be her end solution, but right now the former looked very inviting.

Who: Corwin and Mya
Where: A coffee shop
When: 6PM
Going for coffee in a diner where the person he was going for coffee with worked was one thing. Going for coffee someplace he'd never actually been in where he had no guarantees that he'd be safe, not stared at, not recognized, not kicked out, not whatever was something else. And now Mya knew exactly what he was, which was something else to worry about. Would she act differently? Would she even show up?
The vampire waited, restless and nervous and quite alone, as neither ghost was around, at the corner outside the coffee shop. He had his hands in his pockets and his scarf wrapped up snugly around his face, looking around hopefully for the at least somewhat-familiar blond woman.

The minute his shift was over, Brian called Mya. He wanted to make sure she was awake, and not wanting to kill something, before he showed up on her doorstep, after all.
After a few vibrated noises on her bedside table Mya picked up the phone. "Hello?" She asked, doing her best not to threaten whoever called before they explained -why- they were calling.

Mya pulled up to the diner at about five to six, cup of coffee resting nicely in the holder next to her. For the first time in a long time she hadn't had to pull as many long days at the diner and the extra sleep was nice, however a tad annoying to get used to. Her body didn't seem to want to come back awake in the mornings as quickly anymore. She was a bit early still, not supposed to be there until seven, when Domino showed up for his shift so she could take some time to catch up on some of the paper work she'd been too busy to get to in the past month and a half.
Breakfast at the Diner

Where: Mya's Diner
When: Morning
It was a early, it was a Monday, Mya was supposed to be in bed forgetting that it was a Monday. However Mya is nothing if not a good friend and Bryan having to go away on a family thing left her to 'open' the diner every day. She didn't mind, not really. Mya loved the diner, it was her dream come true. Just, it was a Monday. Regardless of the day Mya got dressed and ready to go, she didn't bother to dress nicely today, anything she wore was probably going to get messed up anyhow so it was just jeans and an old t-shirt for her today. When she arrived at the diner it was still early, 5am, and the breakfast crowd hadn't arrived yet. She relieved the night shift staff, thanking them greatly for working such a long shift and telling them to enjoy their day, and night off. After making sure they were all counted out and got their tips she went about getting things set up for the day. Domino had arrived about five minutes after she had and so she didn't have to worry about the customers, knowing he'd take care of them while she did the daily paperwork. At least he knew how to work the stove and make the basic menu items which is all most people ordered this morning, well that... and coffee.
It took Mya about an hour to finish paperwork, and once she finished she pulled on her apron and behind the counter. The new cook had arrived by this point so Mya didn't have to worry about her trying and setting a fire, today was going to be ok... Monday or not. Besides the morning crowd was already starting to move in, Mya could get to work and into a zone where the day couldn't touch her.
