Who: Manhattan and Derek
WHere: Derek's New Residence
When: Afternoon
A quick voicemail was left on Manhattan's cell. All it held was a small greeting from Derek and an address.
The address on the voicemail was that of a nice dark beige house. She was instructed to park around the corner and come in the back way. In the front of the house there was a moving truck and two guys offloading furniture.
It was a few minutes after retrieving Derek's message that Manhattan was on her way to the meeting point. And it didn't take her long to reach her destination. Parking as instructed in the message, Manhattan parked her truck around the corner from the house and found her way toward the back of the place where she found the door unlocked making it oh so easy for her to just wander on in.
Just... there.

Who: Herbert and Sammy
Where: Helen's place
When: Late afternoon
The instant Herbert got Sammy's text that he was okay to visit, Herbert was out the door. Thankfully, it was after Charlie had gone home again. He got there in record time, this time not bothering to bring anything, since he'd mostly brought everything he could think of the day before, and leaving Elda behind. After her meeting with Charlie, he figured he'd let her sleep.
He slowed and hopped off his bicycle in front of the house, looking around immediately for Sammy, half-expecting him to be waiting there on the porch, the way Geo had. After not getting to see him the day before, he was even more anxious to do so today.

Who: Brian and Mya
Where: On the phone
When: 8:30ish in the evening
By the time work had come around, Brian had been under control and no longer glowing-- thank god, because if he'd had to talk to Ash while still in a state there would've been trouble. By the time he got off work, he'd been no longer even the slightest bit angry, and just plain confused with a heavy dose of worry. Hunt had acted strange. He wasn't the type to be cruel, needlessly or even needfully, and he wasn't the type to pretend he didn't understand or remember something... so there had to be some reason for it. And now that he wasn't angry, short circuiting, or right in Hunt's face, he could recognize that.
And he needed to talk to someone about it. The natural choice, of course, was Mya. He needed to call her, anyway. Check up on things. See if she'd heard from Olivia. Remind her to stay home tomorrow, dammit.

Who: Alejandro and Jovie
Where: Babylon, where else?
When: Early evening
Tonight, Alejandro was very not happy to be at work. He had to be at work, because he had to pay the bills and he had to keep his job and he really had to get to Nevermore to look at what they had, there, but he wasn't letting himself until he was no longer in the red financially. And he had no idea how much getting a cast put on his shattered foot would wind up costing, but he hadn't had a choice, if he wanted it to heal at all. Already the doctor had warned him he might wind up with a permanent limp, and he would wind up with a slightly disfigured foot.
Fucking Mourning Star. Not acceptable.

Who: Peyton and Geo
When: 10:30am (after their texts)
Where: Peyton's house
Peyton waited for Geo. Or rather, paced anxiously on her porch. She kept glancing down the street, expecting to see him come riding up on his bike at any moment. Maybe he wouldn't be riding his bike. Maybe he'd be walking. She tried to sit a couple of times, to be patient, but it was difficult and she'd resorted to chewing her fingernail as the minutes ticked by. She had no clue what she would say or do, but all she knew was she wanted to see him in the flesh to make sure he was okay and alive. And then maybe it would click and she'd have the right thing to say. Unless there wasn't a right thing. He'd just lost his parents. Who'd she had really liked... and it made her think about what she'd do if she lost her mom. Or dad. Or both of them and her heart continually seized at the mere thought.
Tugging her phone out of her pocket, she flipped it open to text him again when her eyes caught sight of him nearing her house. She breathed a sigh of relief and set her phone on the porch railing, returning to wait on the top step.

Who: Aiden and Delilah
When: late afternoon
Where: Delilah's house
Delilah had gotten up with the full expectation of making pie. There'd been a small hitch in getting fresh peaches, but she'd managed to find some that didn't feel or smell too bad. It was the last day of the weekend, after all, and she'd promised pie and coffee and perhaps some more conversation. She was a social creature at heart, and she enjoyed company. Especially company she could bake for, which she couldn't do with Corwin. Not that she didn't enjoy his visits. She sent her well-wishes out into the void when she heard about the terrible tragedy of the house fire as she worked. Three children now without parents, it was terrible. Her heart went out to them, for what it was worth.
Once the creation was ready and cooling on the windowsil in the kitchen, and there was a fresh pot brewing, she picked up the phone and instructed it to dial Aiden's number. There was a chance he might be unavailable, and that was all right. She could always start in on it herself. Delilah leaned against the kitchen counter and listened to the other side ring.
Water is Emo

Who: Claire and Joshua
When: afternoonish
Where: down by the lake
Maybe it was from being born and raised on an island, but Joshua liked being on the lakeshore. There was something soothing about the water. The damn thing was big enough to be an ocean, when you were standing on the side of it. In any case, he'd walked aimlessly out there again, far from where he'd run into the naked-feather-man, but still. Down there. His head was all over the place, and he'd been hoping the movement would help, but it hadn't really.
She'd said that she missed him. Gave him little text hearts. But he hadn't heard from her again. She hadn't wanted to see him. He was again in that place where he didn't know what she was thinking and he was stopping himself from texting her at least once an hour. He didn't know what to do. Should he do it? Go out there and try to see her? Would she even ask for his help if she needed some? He kind of didn't think so. But then he didn't want to be the insane stalker ex-boyfriend either, who just showed up to a house that wasn't even her's and demanded -- or begged, more likely -- to see her. So he was stuck. Wondering if she was thinking about him at all, if she'd meant it when she said she missed him, or if he was just ... placated and tucked to one side. Because that was what it felt like. She hadn't actually talked to him, after all, just made references to having a hard time. A hard time she apparently didn't want his help with. Not that he had any. He was worried about her, and felt completely helpless. Which really had been the problem, hadn't it? It was a bad headspace to be in.

Who: Brian and Hunt
Where: A random little Italian restaurant
When: Lunchtime
Normally, Brian was picky about where he went out to eat. He had to know the cook was at least almost as good as he was, so he wouldn't spend the whole meal thinking about how he could have made whatever he was eating better or with a slightly different flavor or maybe would have cooked it longer, or something. It tended to ruin a meal for him.
Today, though, he didn't have much of a choice: when he called Hunt to invite him out for lunch, he'd picked what was open and what he knew hadn't been too badly vandalized. Besides, he wasn't sure he'd really be tasting whatever he ate, at this point, anyway. Especially not if there were more ghosts in the restaurant, like there were in the streets. So he pulled up at the little Italian place and climbed out of his car, doing his level best to ignore Torziel hopping out behind him and the dead woman passing on the sidewalk beside the tiny parking lot, instead looking around to see if the history teacher was there yet.
Moonlit Acquaintance
Submitted by russian_hudozhnik on Fri, 07/25/2008 - 05:59.Who: Corwin and Ivan
Where: By the lake
When: Shortly after sunset
With the threat of Acherus gone, Corwin actually felt comfortable taking Kirk for a walk. The three-legged mutt certainly acted like his namesake, all bold bravery and self-confidence, but he would've been no match for the pack-vampires if one had taken it into its head to attack him. And knowing the Acherus and their track record with Corwin's pets, they probably would have-- and Kirk, not knowing any better, would just try to fight back, and lose terribly.

Who: Brian
Where: His house
When: Morning, fairly early
Though it might've been unusual for him, Brian woke before Domino-- he also rose before Domino, too. First off, bad dreams made it so that he didn't want to sleep much longer than he had to-- if he didn't know better he'd think those were Torziel's fault, little brat. He'd probably love to give his willworker nightmares about killing people and his father being a right bastard, if not actually evil. Problem was, he did know better. Nothing he knew about familiars suggested they could send people dreams.

If he could have, Sammy would have been muttering beneath his breath, but as it was, he couldn't, but the light scowl on his face gave away how he felt quite well. When Helen had said - not even an hour ago - for Sammy to go get something she could make for supper since she 'hadn't been expecting guests' Geo had waved for him to go so that he and Helen wouldn't have yet another fight. So, here he was now, wandering the aisles of Econo Foods searching for something to take home. ...no, no. To take back to Helen's. Helen's wasn't home, home was burned down.

Who: Dean and various text messages (to Charlotte, Caleb, Herbert, Joshua, Isaac, Peyton, Sammy, Stacey, Thom, Sophie, Billy, Thia and Oz)
Where: Text message
When: Late afternoon
Dean sat by himself in his room, the components of his phone strewn around him as he fitted everything together and set it to charge. He knew he should probably leave it for however many hours before using it, but he'd never been the most patient of guys, so he flipped it open, turned it on and started adding numbers from the notebook on his desk. He'd learned early on that when you tended to break electrical things, having important information on bits of paper was a really, really good idea. He couldn't break paper.

Hey man. It's Brian. I only have your work number, so I'm calling there. I know it's stupid-early-o-clock but I can't sleep, so I figured I'd get in touch! Or at least call and say "hey, you wanna do somethin'?" So yeah. You wanna do somethin'? Maybe tomorrow? I seem to be making a habit of the drinking thing, and it's much more fun with friends. Give me a call back, and forgive the rambling. Way too fucking early.
dealing of a sort

So, a lot is going on again, and I suppose I should take some time out to attempt to sort my head. It's kind of a messy place at current. And by kind of I mean explosively, apocalyptically bad. Yes, that's right, I just said it was the end of the world in my brain. Anyways.
God. Where do I even start? I just stared at the page for five minutes, not even knowing where to begin. I know I have to begin somewhere, but where? When there's so much crap floating around in the back of my brain and all of it is pretty much equally as insane, where do you even jump in? Okay whatever I'm just picking the first thing that goes through my mind.
Things? Still not really okay.

Who: Thom and Isaac
When: 9am ish
Where: Thom's house
The thing about having bandmates -- or being a sort of wayward bandmate, really -- was that they thought they could call you at ass-early in the morning on Sundays. Or Jason felt he was entitled, at least. He'd woken Isaac up and began haranguing him about doing his part to get people motivated and getting the band active again. Because sure, everything was all kinds of fucked up, but that was when people needed music, right? They needed social events to go to, and stuff to distract them, so henceforth, it was Promise Theory's job -- nay, duty -- to get themselves practicing again so they could do shows. And yes, he'd already called Tyler and Thom about this same thing, Isaac should be grateful that he was last on the list, it was nine o'clock already for fuck's sake ... hello?

So the rules changed again. They do that, even in the best days. By now, I should be used to it, should anticipate the shift coming the very moment I begin to grasp my place in things. But some how, some way, I never do. And honestly, this time I'm not scared. Sure I'm uncertain about how to go about it all, but I'm not afraid to fail, or slip up. I sit here and I wonder how to manage shifting the world without actually touching it, and it fascinates me.

Dean kept telling himself that this was necessary. All the way to the mall, he told himself it was necessary - he'd broken his phone. Then he'd broken Sophie's phone. No, not at all.
