Who: Olivia and Herbert
Where: Tourville
When: Late evening
It took Olivia much longer than it probably should have to get home. She felt good, fuzzy and distracted. So much so that she didn't realize she'd walked around the same block until she'd past the same yapping dog three times in a row. After that she had tried to focus on getting home. A part of her wanted to go to Mathias's but fortunately, there was still a rational part of her awake and she sighed as she passed his house on the way home, sparing it a glance and pushing her feet forward. Wanting to cut some time, she started across the park, pausing once to take off her sandals. She had a blister forming on the back of her heel. Olivia got through the park without incident, only tripping twice and finding it insanely funny. Lord help her, it was barely eight o'clock. She got to Tourville, managed to get inside and stared up the ominous stairs.
Judi was up there. He'd probably let her shower and sleep in his bed, if she asked. But Rational sparked in her again and she knew she shouldn't be doing that either. Sighing, Olivia trudged her way up the stairs, forced herself past Judi's door and got to her own. She stared at the doorknob for several moments, wondering how she'd managed to be carefree and laughing at Domino's to feeling poorly now, and tired. Dumping her shoes and bag outside of the door, she left them there and turned to head back downstairs rather than go inside. She got to the pool moments later and was relieved to find it empty. Screaming kids was not the remedy for her right now. She lifted a hand to her swimming head - ha - and sat on the edge before slipping her feet into the water. Sitting up proved to be far too dizzying, so she laid back on the floor, hands resting on her stomach as she stared at the ceiling above her.

Who: Brian and Domino
Where: Brian's place
When: 9PM-ish
When Brian had gotten the voice mail from Domino saying he had to talk to him about something, his immediate response had been to call back-- and leave another message; he hoped the guy got it-- and say "come over after the diner closes and we'll talk". His immediate thought was that something was wrong, though he really didn't have any real reason to think that. After everything lately, though, his ability to be optimistic and expect positive things had been bumped to the backburner, leaving behind pessimism and a definite worst-case-scenario sort of mindset.
At least he managed to not spend all of his time at the diner worrying-- he kept busy, dealt with customers, got a head start on the inventory he desperately needed to get done soon. So it was just the drive home and the wait at the house where he worried and wondered what had happened to the incurious, laid-back man he was used to being. The one who didn't think about whether he had anything to drink left in the fridge first thing when he got home. At least he managed to resist going and getting any of that drink he knew was there. One would think that the hangover that morning would've been enough to convince him of that, but it was an effort, anyway. Instead, he flopped back onto the couch and turned on the tv while he waited for Domino. He was going to go to bed sober tonight, dammit. He was.

Lullaby was in Dean's room. She'd gone in, because she'd needed to research some things for homework, and he'd told her she could use his computer whenever she wanted, so she was taking him up on that. She'd only meant to be in there a minute, but then she'd gotten a poke on Skype. She hadn't checked to see what programs were on or whatever when the computer booted up, and it had been Andy. Which had planted herself in his computer chair for the duration, the webcam on, them having a long, fun conversation. She laughed, grinning at the screen. "Yoooou just want me to show you sex again because you get a kick out of seeing me sign it." she accused. "I have done it several times now! I refuse to take any responsibility if you can't learn 'work' right, and embarrass yourself in front of the deaf the world over."
"Would I do that? C'mon, Thia. I don't want to get it wrong...and you've been so patient so far! I just want to be sure I'm not remembering it differently than you've taught...that's a valid concern!" Andy said.
Lullaby stuck her tongue out at the cam, and showed the two alternating signs again--which were very similar. "There. You've seen it. Now go to bed! You've been up for like...almost three hours past when you said you were going to go!" She paused as she noted motion towards the door. "Ee! Dean's home! Now I've really got to go. He might want his computer. Goodnight, Andy! Sweet dreams!" she said, waving at the screen, before she reached out a hand to twirl the chair in the boy in question's direction, legs all drawn up on the seat with her--and she had borrowed one of his long sleeve shirts. It was totally drowning her, but she was no longer shivery, so she was calling it even. Then she stared at him, jaw dropped.
"Dean--what happened?!" she cried as if concerned. "Did you lose a fight with Tinkerbell?!"

Who: Corwin and Judiel
Where: The Interwebs-- specifically World of Warcraft =D
When: Late afternoon
After a couple hours of working on his programming for his boss, Corwin figured he'd spend another couple hours rewarding himself for getting a particularly stubborn bug out of the code by spending the next couple hours before sunset vegging out. Or rather, working on a quest or a level-grind or something on World of Warcraft. Maybe one of his various "friends", people he routinely set up raids and things with, would be online and he could even chat while he worked on his next level on his latest character. If there was one thing Corwin was when it came to video games, it was patient; level-grinding kept him just as entertained as an actual quest or party-raid. Even better, it was largely mindless so he could chat while he did it.
So he settled down on the floor, leaning back against the couch, with several cats lounging around on either side of him. Poor Patches got the special seat on the couch-- she still wasn't eating enough, though she was eating, and his amateur castings and bandages seemed to be holding, at least-- behind him, leaning against his shoulders. From there he logged into the dwarven priest he'd been trying to bump up to level sixty-- he still had four more to go; he hadn't really been working very hard at it lately, what with everything going on, and he fully expected a couple people to nag him about it if they were online-- and as he moved the character out of the city in search of something to kill, he checked out the guild listings of who was online.
Not Getting What's Needed

Who: Natalya and Kurt
When: afternoon
Where: their home
Crutches were something to get used to. Kurt felt awkward and far too ... big, on them. He would almost rather just limp around and take the pain, but he'd already been given many stern looks for trying by his significant other, and the visit to the hospital really only affirmed how much he shouldn't do that. He'd relented finally to going and having his leg officially checked out by professionals. The thoughts of nerve and tendon damage permanently giving him a limp or worse, as well as Natalya's incessant worrying, had driven him to actually do it. The visit itself had been rather nerve-wracking, even though they hadn't asked him a lot of questions. An odd lack of them, in fact. But he supposed with everything they'd seen lately, a bullet in the leg was common fare.
No, it had been all the machines. They were everywhere, and all of them seemed eerily silent when they weren't beeping at amazingly shrill levels. Kurt had kept a stony face through it all, but the entire thing had made him horribly nervous. They'd done scans of some sorts, explained it to Natalya -- as he played up the accent some and pretended that that was why he didn't much understand what they were saying -- and stated that they'd get back to them with the results in a couple of days at most. It wasn't infected, he got that much, and it was a relief. He could go home. Which was exactly what he was doing as he attempted to arrange climbing out of the cab and getting onto his crutches at the same time.

Who: Syn and Seph
When: early afternoon
Where: their house
Seph had gotten to know the ceiling of Doc's bedroom very well. The funny thing was, it changed. It was that textured kind, and when he woke up at odd hours with pain swirling about in his head, he saw patterns in it. Shifting patterns that sometimes looked like faces, sometimes looked like ... things he wasn't sure he could explain to anyone, but were familiar at the same time. But they were rarely the same. Which he was aware was probably just him and his broken brain, but still. It was interesting. Nine times out of ten, Syn was there, stirring with him or already sitting up ready with more painkillers. He was getting little tiny bits of strength back, he was eating, and could now sit up without being exhausted. The bathroom was still something of an absolute trial, because that much movement and uprightness hurt an insane amount. Pain he could deal with for the most part, it was the whole needing help thing that he wanted to get over.

The weather had begun to turn. Or did it's first twist all of the sudden. It didn't bother Bu in the least. Quite the contrary, she preferred the temperature on the nippier side. It was always rather ... rejuvenating. Her wounds were healing nicely, she'd done a good turn for some nice boys who needed it, and Bu was feeling a lot better about life. And therefore, she was out. Sure, it was a Tuesday night, and therefore the bars probably wouldn't be terribly busy, but she was going to take a stab at it anyway. Who knew what sort of information might cross her palm? She'd learned a long time ago not to discount the quiet nights.
The dive she picked was smallish and out of the way. She'd just pop in, have a beer, see what heads she turned. Because she would. There was a change of darker clothes in the car, for when she actually began the real patrol, but it was a bit early for that. So Buttah was wearing skin-tight jeans with fuzzy black boots -- with only a small heel, who knew when she'd have to hoof it tonight? -- and a long-sleeved t-shirt with 'Princess' in sparkly stuff across her generous chest, and which left a small line of visible skin between it and her hip-huggers. She'd paired it with a gold lame belt that was slung low and her usual big hoop earrings. It was evening, so she'd done her hair in curls. It was quasi-casual, for her at least, but she knew she looked good. She slipped her black leather jacket off of her shoulders as she strode into the place like she owned it, and headed for the bar.

The hardest part about bringing cats over to the place Sammy and Geo were staying was, actually, deciding which cats it would be. Davey would never do, being highly distractable and very loud, and Georgia was far too old, for all she was very patient. The fact that she was white was probably a point not in her favor. He refused to part with JP just yet, so that was out of the question, and River was actually technically his "Olivia cat", even if she wasn't a watchcat exactly. That left... Horus. And locals.

Shannon deserves a wonderful dream. I've never met a walker, so I hope I can give it to her, and not have to give it to someone else so she can walk in it. Supposedly their presence makes tears in the dream...
That makes me sad. How can people who can enjoy dreams so well, just... ruin them by accident?
Oh well, the dream has to be perfect. It has to be beautiful, like I promised.

Oh how he felt so weak. This useless body was forced to remain laying there on the sidewalk that cut through the park, staring off into the darkness like someone who couldn't sleep. She couldn't risk going home, the urges were too strong she didn't know if she could keep herself from feeding from her own father. So, she'd stay in the park.

The demon was enjoying himself terribly. Crowded places-- that were not blessed to the Beyond and back-- were rife with chaos and easy to disrupt in small ways to make everyone's day a little more miserable. Things like this were exactly what someone of Dessicant's meager cursing ability lived for: when it was important that things run smoothly, one small thing going wrong could cause so much trouble. He'd thrown away three small curses already, one on a tarp peg that decided it didn't want to stay stuck in the ground anymore, one on a stand for some china plates which promptly broke and cracked the hand-painted pottery, and one on the clasp holding up a woven rug which suddenly let go of its burden, letting it flop and fall against the ones next to it. Then he drank in the resulting irritation and chaos like a fine wine, breathing comfortably for the first time in days. Aaah, this was the life....

The shop had been slow that morning... which didn't surprise Jovie, considering she was still trying to clean it up from the goddamn Acherus attacks. She had managed to sell a few pieces, using the "gang-related incidents" as a sympathetic tool. People felt bad for those suffering, and my, my, wasn't Jovie, a lovely girl, suffering with her beautiful shop damaged and torn apart? But the poor thing needed to make a living, so she was braving the business day and hoping for her luck to turn... People bought that shit right up, along with her jewelry. At lunch, she closed the shop to wander down the street to the lakeshore where people were selling different forms of art. If that's what one could call it. She walked through the maze of booths and people, mentally listening to people get scammed over what was an original and what wasn't, what was one of a kind and what seller had three more replicas hiding under the table. She smirked as she listened to the masses, most of them annoyingly enjoying the day. She checked out the jewelry, wondering if any would catch her eye. In Marquette, you never knew what you might be buying - she could attest to that. At any given moment, those ruby red earrings you just had to have could cause temporary - sometimes permanent - deafness once you put them on. Jovie could attest to that as well, given she'd sold a pair just three hours ago...

As the subject says :) I'm checking in with you to see how you're doing, if you or your brother need anything, a time away from your sister's house, etc. I can send one of my cats to keep an eye on the house, if you like, and if you need anything or there's trouble it can get me. As long as it's at night, anyway.

Harper had been forced to work double shifts for the past week because of the manager leaving. Although Mathis had promoted her and given her permission to hire someone on, which was nice, but with all the catch up from stock finally coming in and everything she hadn’t had much chance to even think about it other than a passing thought. Finally she managed to sit down and look at the single application she had which had been given to her before she was promoted. Harper pulled the phone up and dialed the number on the sheet; it was still a little awkward, her arm hadn’t completely healed yet and was still in a cast, but would be coming off within the week (or so the doctor said).
Putting the phone to her ear she waited for it to ring.

Who: Dean and Janice
Where: Movies
When: Evening
Dean had to wonder what the hell he was doing as he walked up to the cinema, after Sophie had dropped him off in town. Sure, he knew what he was doing, but he was as nervous as all hell and had spent the last hour wondering if this really was that good an idea. Maybe it would be best to just turn round and go home, stand her up, forget about the whole thing, deal with the fallout in school tomorrow where he'd doubtlessly be bitched about, but at least he wouldn't have to run the gauntlet that Thia and Caleb had him worrying about that this would be viewed as a more than one time thing. Somehow he had to make sure he made that clear. The one time only thing. Unless this went well - which he doubted it would - at least, not well enough for him to want a repeat performance. Sure, the girl was pretty, but, well, she was like fourteen or something and really not his type. He hadn't been lying when he told Thia that the reason he'd picked her was because he knew beyond a doubt that she'd say 'yes'. That probably wasn't a very good start. But, he was here - and wearing the jacket as Thia'd insisted, along with a pair of dark blue jeans and a charcoal grey tshirt. He'd purposefully picked them so she couldn't think that he'd made too much of an effort or anything. God, what was he doing again?

Madigan headed indoors the second she saw the flash of light from the spell components she'd been preparing a bit back into the woods behind the house. It was about bloody time. So, those gathered up, she walked inside, and started dropping everything into he heavy trunk that was just inside the door. Then, she went in search of her boy. Who wasn't that difficult to find. "Y'know, my life was a lot easier when I was dead." she mused. "Hung around, lurked, watched...teased you...wasn't all bad. Now I've got more spellwork to do than I have in decades, pissy, overly dramatic teenagers about who're constantly demanding attention or downright need it in order not to get themselves killed, have to keep my energy up to tend to you..." she trailed off. "You know that bit about how people should be careful what they wish for?" she asked. Then she smiled at him. "Not feelin that at all." she finished. Then she gave him a kiss on the lips, and a hug.
He hooked her round the waist and pulled her in, returning the kiss. "No, me neither," he agreed as he pulled back a little, resting his forehead against hers. "Anyway, at least you're not getting bored - I know I've been neglecting you a little lately." What with the amount of work he'd been fitting in, and then the fact he'd been mostly laid out over the weekend after the tricks he'd pulled in Lullaby's dreams. He was just beginning to feel himself again now, and had taken the day off before he got hold of Corwin to start on the floor he wanted. He'd give the guy a ring tomorrow.

Olivia was back at work. It felt strange after having so many days off, but it was a necessary since she was pretty much broke and rent would be due soon enough. Which meant working - lots and lots of working. She managed it all right, ignoring the customers that pissed her off and chatting up or flirting with the tables that didn't. Anything to get an extra dollar in her tip was worth it. She was relieved not to see Brian - though she wondered how he was against her better judgment. Mya had stayed true to her promise to switch shifts, although Olivia did feel mildly guilty about Brian working night shifts now, unless he had preferred it then perhaps she did him a favor. Wiping down her last table, Olivia returned to the back to pull off her apron and grab her things. Briefly she considered going to see Mathias, but she honestly didn't know if that was entirely a good idea. But when had she been full of good ideas lately? Olivia wrinkled her nose a bit and hung up her apron. At least she had some free time before Babylon. Maybe she would stop by the arts thing happening in town instead. That would give her something to concentrate on... browsing at things she couldn't afford. Always a fun time.

If there was one thing Claire enjoyed in Marquette, it was all the weird little festival things it did throughout the year. Fairs, cheap carnivals, fish festivals, art shows... she blew her money on more crap than anyone she knew, half of which were still in bags in her closet. It was just fun finding little knick knacks, or spending five bucks on a small cone of cotton candy. It was even more fun to people watch. Crowds meant being in close vicinity with others, and if you had to place your hand on someone's back lightly just to be able to get by them, even better. She could feed fairly quickly at times, depending on the situation and the person. She liked crowds, for more than one reason, which was why she headed to the lakeshore shortly after school. It was busy, as she had a feeling it would be given the dull atmosphere of the town over the past few weeks. Finally, something that resembled normalcy.

Who: Herbert and Olivia
When: Early morning
Where: Their apartment
Olivia was up, showered and cooking before Herbert had woken. She hadn't slept very well the night before, after having stayed up most of the night playing... video games with Corwin. Video games with a vampire. She wondered if Judiel would find that amusing or not. In any case, it had at least been distracting. She read for the rest of the night until she dozed for about an hour before the sun began to peek into her room. Sipping a bit of coffee now, Olivia was finishing up the omelet she'd made for Herbert - who she was sure would smell it while it was cooking and hopefully lure him out of bed. She found early on that it was hard waking a teenage boy from slumber. Worse when said boy was a werebear. As much as Olivia loved the season, she was dreading winter. Herbert hibernating? She'd have to pound pots and pans together over his head to get him up for school, no doubt. But that wasn't the only reason she was cooking him breakfast that morning. She wanted to talk to him briefly about Corwin and hopefully succeed in it a bit better than she had the night before. She was afraid that maybe she'd hurt his feelings somehow, and she felt a strange, intense need to remedy that if it was true.
