Geo - Nuetral

Who: Peyton and Geo
When: After school
Where: Geo's house

As she had planned, Peyton headed over to Geo's house after school let out, hoping he wouldn't mind if she just popped by unannounced. She had a couple of things in her bag for him and she wanted to give them to him before the weekend hit as she didn't know what he would be up to. Listening to her iPod on the way, she opened up her messenger bag to check to make sure she had everything. Pleased to see she did, she cut through some yards and within ten minutes found herself out front of his house. She hopped up on the porch, singing under her breath before she knocked. Tugging her headphones out, she shoved them in her bag and shifted, waiting for someone to answer the door.

Geo had been drowsing off on the couch, listening to John Lennon singing on his dad's stereo. A simple, ordinary CD player - it didn't sound right - but right now he still wanted to be downstairs. The doctor's visit this morning had gone...ok? He guessed? He hadn't said anything was going wrong, so, there was that.

The knock at the door pulled him out of his doze and he stood, carefully making his way to the door. Probably Peyton or Herbert - or Sammy, forgetting his key again. He was pleased when it turned out to be the first and not the third. "Peyton! What's up?"

"Hi," she greeted cheerfully, pleased to see he was home, though he looked a bit tired, so she hoped she hadn't woken him or anything. She knew she should have called first, but she'd realized he had lost his phone, which was why he was hurt in the first place, really, and she didn't want to bring that back to his attention. "Are you busy? I just wanted to stop by and say hi and see how you were feeling."

"Nah, was just resting. But not sleeping. Promise." And he hadn't been - really. Only a little. "I just kinda wanted to be downstairs an' all since Mom is home." She'd taken the day off to get the house back in order (she claimed) and to keep an eye on Geo (she hadn't said, but was the current theory). "C'mon in."

She stepped inside of his house, eyes seeking out his mother to say hi. She didn't see her, so turned to Geo as he shut the door behind her. "How are you feeling?" she asked, studying his face. He didn't look worse off than the last time she was over, which was a bit of a relief.

"Ok and not ok again," Geo admitted, waving her towards the couch. "Had a doctor's visit this morning. He...he doesn't think I'll be able to see from that eye again, but we were...pretty much expecting that. But it's not infected, which is good, so...yeah." He had been harboring some small hope for a miracle cure, but apparently that wasn't in the cards for right now.

Peyton went to sit on his couch, frowning as he spoke. He'd never see in that eye again? She hadn't really expecting that, then again she didn't see how bad his injury was. And he was a wereraven, so maybe that made it much worse. "I'm sorry," she told him, though she knew it didn't really help matters much. There could be some hope though, right? She knew people in Marquette did magic, didn't they? Maybe there was something that could help his eyesight. Maybe she'd look into it for him, just in case. "Uhm.. it's not a lot, but I got you something." She went to pull open the flap of her messenger bag. "Maybe it'll make you feel a little better..." She pulled out the cd and handed it to him. "You told me that you were missing files from A Treeful of Secrets because of your net connection so I downloaded the whole thing for you last night."

Geo took the cd in almost-reverent hands, sitting down next to her. "Dude. Really? That is awesome. I'm running way low on new things to listen to lately, since....yeah, s'been almost the only thing I've been doing the last few days." Listening to music and sleeping. It was getting really old.

"Dude, yes," Peyton replied with a smile, leaning back against the couch comfortably. "I can't honestly believe that you just said you're running low on new things to listen to. Have you seriously listened to every single album you have stashed away in your room? I was going to buy you something new, but the problem is, I still don't know what you have and what you don't. You need to like, write down an inventory and give me a copy or something."

"All the ones I like, yeah." Geo rubbed the back of his neck. "You know, uh. Wereravens are...well, we're kinda compelled to collect things. That framework of records I was talkin' about? That's not entirely just OCD. I have to collect it. So the number of the records an' stuff upstairs that I actually technically want want to have is considerably smaller than that collection up there." He waved the disc. "However, this? Totally one of the ones I want to have."

Peyton blinked once and then smiled widely. "See, and I just thought you were totally music OCD... which, I mean, you kinda still are, but still. It's gotta be weird, buying music you don't really want but having to buy just because... you have to. But I'm glad you wanted that one... something new to listen to for awhile. I still think you need major inventory, like a spreadsheet or something. It's going to be hard buying for you for Christmas because you've like, got everything already." She pushed her hair from her cheek. "So if you collect records, what does Sammy collect?"

"Technically, I'm not supposed to tell, 'cuz it's...it can be used against you, I can't help it to that point, but..." He glanced over at the door before speaking rapidly. "Street signs. He collects street signs."

"Really?" Peyton furrowed her brows together, trying to remember if she'd seen any street signs missing from town. "Street signs? That's kind of... hard to collect, isn't it? I mean, you'd have to steal them and stuff, right?" Peyton paused and shot a pointed, if not a bit amused, look at Geo. "You're not his lookout, are you?"

"Yep, lookout and sometimes I have to lift him high enough to reach them. But streetsigns are completely different from cars." Geo grinned. "You should see his room, he's got 'em all tacked to his walls. 's pretty awesome, actually."

Peyton found herself laughing. "So, not only are you a lookout, but you're a sometimes accomplice as well. I don't really have anything I collect... I mean, records, but it's not... OCD like. Then again, I'm not a wereraven either." She was a nothing, compared to everyone else she knew. "Don't your parents ever question all the street signs? And records? Or do they know about the compulsions and don't say anything?"

"They know. Mom's got candles, dad's got..." Geo paused, frowning. "...I know he's got a collection, but I have no clue what it is." Weird. And, he belatedly realized, he'd just confirmed that Laverne and Fred were wereravens too. Oops.

A family of wereravens. Peyton wasn't bothered by this at all. In fact, she smiled again, thinking maybe she could bring Mrs. Williams some candles herself - since she'd given her dinner, and a ride home the other day. She arched her eyebrow at Geo. "Seems like your dad is a much better secret keeper than some people," she teased. And then she shifted on the couch to face him more properly. "We should do something later. Go to Fenton's or something this weekend, loiter and then steal cds." Of course, she was joking about the stealing part. "Might be good for you to get out of the house, if you're allowed."

"I'm allowed, I think. Mom's realized I'm not gonna walk into a wall or anything. I think." Fenton's sounded good, actually - as did the cds thing. He flinched, ever so slightly, when she said that though, what with what had happened last time he'd been there; with that creepy, staring guy and then the Vampire stuff starting right after. "I hope, anyways. I'd rather not be a hermit all my life, thank you very much."

"Then we'll make sure you're not a hermit," Peyton told him with a firm nod. She sat up a bit from her relaxed position. "We'll go like, Saturday or something okay? Do something distracting." She fidgeted a bit with her bag. "I should probably get home unless you want me to hang out for a bit longer."

"Distracting sounds good." Geo stayed slouched, playing with the CD case. "But...y'don't have to leave unless you want to or need to or whatever..." He gave a one-shouldered shrug before setting the disc down on the arm rest. "But if you need to," He made shooing motions at her. "Gooo. Don't want you gettin' in trouble or anything on my account."

Peyton grabbed the strap of her bag and lifted it up and over her head to set her bag on the ground in front of the couch. "I don't have to go yet. I'd rather stay." She reached over him to grab the cd he set down before standing and nudging his knee. "C'mon, let's go listen. I want to look at your massive collection a bit more anyway to see which ones I'm going to make you copy for me. I think I'm going to need at least three or four more visits to get through them all."
